Fast Forward: Present Day 2016

I woke up to my alarm clock. "Ughhhh," I groaned.

A scream made me jump out of bed.

"What happened?" I asked, still obviously half asleep.

"Molly's gone!" Jasmine said.

"Maybe she went for a walk or something." I yawned.

"Wait... did she leave that room?" Jasmine asked.

"Jas, she was right behind us. Remember?"

"Yeah, but just to be safe let's look for her, ok?" Jasmine was obviously freaking out, being that her best friend was missing, and we didn't know where she was.

Two Hours later
Jasmine and I had searched the entire house, not seeing it hearing anything.

"Let's call her and see if we hear her phone." Jasmine said.

We called Molly's phone but heard nothing.

We decided to go get breakfast and go over the places she'd be... besides we were hungry.

Jasmine and I arrived at the café at around 12:00. Jasmine didn't order anything but a coffee, whereas I ordered literally everything on the menu.

20 minutes later.

"Alex, I don't understand. Where could she be?" Jasmine took a sip of her coffee.

"She's fine, Jas. She can be extremely careless at times but she's fine. Believe me." My food came and I was eating like I hadn't seen food in days. Jasmine was trying not to laugh at me.

"Ok," She sighed. "I just can't help feeling like something bad happened to her."

"JASMINE!!!" A male voice called. We both turned around to see a very handsome teenage boy, about my age.

"Hey Max." Jasmine said.

Hey Jas, where's Aladdin?" Max asked, referring to her boyfriend, Eric. "At home with Rajah?" Referring to her cat Molly, named after her best friend, obviously.

"Max, stop with the Aladdin jokes, please." I said, very agitated. He could be so annoying sometimes.

"Why? I'm just getting started!" He asked.

"Because I have a splitting headache and I'm worried about Molly." I said.

"Who?" Max asked.

"The girl you hit on at prom last year, but she rejected you?" I said. He hated when I brought that up.

"Oh, haha." He said.

"Yeah, her." I said. "Have you seen or heard from her?"

"Yes, she was at my house yesterday, saying a bunch of stuff about a mirror." Max said.

"Yeah, the previous owner of my mansion wrote a note on a paper covering the mirror, saying the mirror was bad luck." I said.

"Well, after that, I never heard from her." Max said.

"Are you guys talking about the legendary cursed mirror?" A waitress asked.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"Well legend has it..." the waitress began.
