Nancy had accidentally bumped into Avalon Tera, causing her coffee to fly out of her hand and spill on the ground,
"I am so terribly sorry!" Nancy said as she grabbed a cloth out of her jean pocket and cleaned up the spilled coffee.
Avalon rolled her eyes, "It's fine, it's not like a phone dropped or anything" she said with a hint of sarcasm, "Why are you here anyway?"
"Because I wanted to get help from other people, you guys really didn't help that much. And why are you here?" Nancy said,
"Ohh, it's not like I'm going to pick up my brother." She said sarcastically
"Wait a minute. He works here?" She replied quickly
"Obviously, he is working as a cashier. He's at register 3 I believe," Avalon said cooly.
"Can I go with you and wait for him?"
"Of course, I'm sure he wouldn't mind seeing you after he got off, for goodness sakes he talks about you all the time. One time his paren-" She said, but being interrupted by someone.
"I do not!" James spoke up
"Do too!"
"Do not!"
"Do too!
"Do not!"
"Do too!"
"Do not!"
"Do too!"
"Okay... I'm gonna go ask some people around here about the house." Nancy said nervously,
"Okay, but please take this note with you," James said as he handed Nancy a note,
"I will. See you guys later!" She said as she walked away.
******************
"She's beautiful." James whispered to his sister
"Admit it, you have a crush on her." She whispered back
"I do" James replied
*****************
Nancy had walked far enough to keep both James and Avalon out of sight. She sighed and grabbed the note and read it.
Nancy, may I and my sister help you on this case?
From your neighbor,
James Tera
Nancy put the note in her pocket,
"Of course I will let you guys help." She said softly,
Then she remembered about asking other people for clues. She walked over to the produce section and looked around for someone,
"Does anyone know anything about the house that was on the news?" Nancy shouted,
"I do! But are you a robber?" A elderly woman shouted back,
"No. But I am looking for clues to stop a robber from blowing up a building!"
"Fine, I'll tell you what I know. Come to Isle 1 please."
"Okay," Nancy said as she walked over to isle 1, still thinking of the note that her neighbor gave her.
The elderly woman who was shouting had been gazing down at the cart, then Nancy walked over to her and tapped her shoulder and politely said something, "Uhh, ma'am, are you okay?" Then the elderly woman looked up and spoke up.
"Why yes. I am just fine, and are you the girl who was asking for clues?"
"Indeed I am!" Nancy said back,
"Well, all I know is that it's located on 111 Park Street, and that it is quite far away from here." She said kindly,
"Thank you so much for your help. I must get going now, especially since there is under 168 hours to find that place."
"Oh.. And about that, there is only 5 days left.." She warned
"What do you mean..?" Nancy asked
"Well, you know how sometimes 1 hour of Friday's morning news show is repeated onto the next day at noon?"
"I guess..."
"Then that right there is what they call 'Previously Recorded', It makes no sense but it is what it is."
"Then I MUST be leaving right now! See you later-or-never. I have no clue!" Nancy said, panicking.
After that. Nancy had rushed out of the store, almost knocking down someone on their phone,
****** 30 Minutes Later ******
Nancy politely knocked on the door of Mr. Drew and Hannah Gruen's house-also known as her home.
Then a male voice had shouted.
"Go away, we don't want cookies or anything!"
"Come on dad, it's your daughter!" Nancy shouted loud enough so he can hear her,
"Fine, fine." Then Mr. Drew opened the door to the house,
"Thank you for doing that!" Nancy said, slightly panicking.
"No big deal, you should have your own key! Anyway, where have you been?" He asked
"At the store, trying to find some clues, but end up figuring out that the oldest of the neighbor's kids works there, and also end up with the information that there is only 5 days left." Nancy said,
"So basically your saying that there was good news and bad news?" He said,
"Yea.. Wait, what's the good news?" Nancy asked.
"I dunno, maybe it's because I know that the oldest kid those neighbors have happens to be a boy around your age?" He replied
"I guess so.." Nancy felt a rush of embarrassment and heat rising in her cheeks,
"Now look what you've done Mr. Drew, you made this little detective blush," Hannah said, patting Nancy's head.
"I did not blush!" Nancy embarrassedly said,
"Yes, yes you did. Anyways, I must get going, I have a meeting to get to." Mr. Drew spoke up,
"Well you don't wanna be late for that! See you at dinner?" Hannah asked
"Yes, see you at dinner," Mr. Drew replied. After that, he had walked outside and got into his car,
"Speaking of dinner.." Nancy began,
"What is it?"
"Can the Tera's come over tonight for dinner?" Nancy asked embarrassedly.
"Yes, yes they can," Hannah replied.
