Eren pov:

Why does he have to go...?

I have a terrifying feeling, I don't like it at all, I have to stop him before it's too late...

Eren sped walked to his and Levi's bedroom where the raven was preparing a duffel bag full of his clothes, as earlier that day he received a telegram, stating that he was needed for lack of soldiers. Eren went upstairs but, as he was in front of the door, he just stopped, frozen by fear.

Words got stuck in his throat and he couldn't move, chin wobbling without his consent and tears prickling his eyes.

He used the door frame as support and silently watched Levi's form going back and forth from the wardrobe to the bed where the bag was placed.

He was only able to whisper the words that he wanted to shout...

He sniffled "w-why...? Why do y-ou...w-why do you have to g-go...? Y-you can't...you can't leave me alone...p-please s-stay here, p-please..." Eren knew his words reached Levi's ears but the older just went on putting clothes in his luggage, before stopping and taking a deep breath as he turned around, opening his arms in a silent gesture, after sighing deeply.

Eren just ran into his arms, almost knocking both of them down, fully sobbing now as Levi embraced him tightly, with one hand soothing his soft hair and the other tightly around his waist, supporting his trembling body.

"p-pl-please s-st-ay with me...ple-ase...I n-ne-ed y-you, we n-n-need...y-you...don't g-go..." The brunet hiccuped and sobbed, the uncontrollable sobs wreaking his body as he tried to form coherent words to express the dread and sadness he was feeling. Levi just clicked his tongue in frustration and released a broken sigh, having already understood what the younger was feeling through their soul bond and bite.

"Eren...love of my life, sun of my world...I hate to see you like this...But...I must go...there is an emergency...they are lacking men...it's my country and I have to protect it with all I have, especially when I'm protecting you as well by doing so. Besides, I'll only be away for two months..." he wiped Eren's tears away gently, kissing his forehead like it was made of the most fragile crystal as he softly crooned in order to soothe his precious omega.

"when I come back, I promise that I'll be all yours till death do us apart and even after, okay angel...?"

He gently put his hand on Eren's rounded belly, caressing it with his thumb, just to earn a kick "s-see...? He is a-angry with you as well..."

Levi snorted softly but cupped Eren's cheeks gently, wiping the last tears away, before putting his forehead on his, their noses and lips almost touching as they stayed like that, enjoying the silence and their scents mixed together.

After a while Eren had calmed down a bit and decided to break the silence "w-when do you leave...?" "I leave tomorrow morning..."

Eren hummed in knowledge "...promise me you'll return safe and sound 'cause if you don't, I'll find a way to bring you back and kill you a second time with my bare hands..."

The raven haired alpha chuckled brokenly, looking at his omega with amusement but teary eyed "I promise you my little witch...I swear on my life and on anything you want, I won't leave you alone in this cruel world..."

Eren held out a shy and shaky pinky "pinky promise...?" Levi sighed but linked his pinky with Eren's anyway, looking at him with a fake serious expression and a raised eyebrow "yes pinky promise, brat..."

Levi then unlinked their fingers and lead Eren on an armchair in their bedroom, before kneeling down and putting his head against Eren's soft belly, with his arms circled securely around it and his eyes closed.
