Chapter 3: Break

"Woooooo! Was that exhilarating or what?!"

Lafayette shoved a button on the vending machine for a large bottle of vitamin water as the entirety of the dance team entered the break room for their break.

"Lafayette, I will never understand how you can pull off that 4 foot jump thing you do..." Peggy grinned, sitting at the table with her large water bottle in front of her.

Eliza took a sip of her water and sat in front of her sister.

"There are a lot of things that we don't understand how he does." She joked, "And I don't believe we will ever figure it out."

"What can I say, ladies?" Lafayette leaned against the vending machine, his bottle coming out into the slot, "I'm just that mysterious. It comes with being a Frenchman."

"Okay, Mr. Mysterious." Alex chuckled, reaching into the slot and quickly grabbing the water, downing part of it in one swift motion, "Try to explain how that just happened."

"Y-You!" Lafayette's eyes widened, Hercules doubling over with laughter right beside him, "That was mine!!!"

"You owe me a water from last week!" Alex shrugged, playfully turning his back to Lafayette, "I got it, so you can get another for yourself!"

"Ugh, fine." Lafayette turned and slipped another dollar into the vending machine, another water popping out.

He was sure to grab it quickly this time so that no one else got their hands on it.

"Hey, Eliza?" Theodosia, who had been very quiet like she usually was, spoke up from her spot on another table, "Why did George keep your sister again? Shouldn't she get a break more than us?"

"Agreed, Theo." Eliza nodded, "I think so, anyway. But George has some plans for her and Thomas after Angelica and Aaron perform at the city variety showcase in the next few weeks."

"Oooooh~?" Hercules sat beside her, propping his chin on his hand, "Plans~?"

"It's probably another competition." Alex sat down after taking another sip of his water, "I mean, George only conditions us for such..."

"Well, I'm not complaining." Eliza looked at Alex and giggled slightly, "My body looks good after all the work we've had to do!"

"Okay, Mrs. Best Body." Alex playfully rolled his eyes.

"I'm just saying that I'm not at all sure what exactly George has planned for Angelica, but it's certainly something big if it's requiring for her and Thomas to give up their breaks altogether for a meeting with him!" Eliza replied, "I, honestly, would never be able to give this up. I need my breathing space."

"Angelica never fools around when it comes to dance, though." Hercules said, shooting a look at Lafayette.

"Don't I know it???" Lafayette bust out laughing, "Young woman picks on me all the time for my useless..."

Lafayette looked back at Peggy.

"What are those walks called again?"

"Sassy Walks?" She smiled slightly, "Angelica's signature movements?"

"Yeah, those!" Lafayette grinned goofily, "I can't take a step and not focus on only every single cell in my body at once!"

"You'll figure it out." Alex poked him jokingly, "It can't be any harder than when you were teaching yourself how to break dance."

"Hey, that was hard!" Lafayette looked at Alex, "You remember all those bruises I got from doing that?"

"And all the fun I'd have poking them?" Hercules goofily smiled, "Yeah, I can remember that."
