Author's Note:

Please take note that in order for this to make relatively a bit of sense, I had to do my own research on certain characters, so if I use a few names who are foreign to you, just ask me who they Are and I'll inform you.

Enjoy!

--------------------------------------------

"John? Is everything okay?"

A young teenage boy walked down the New York side walk and around a park on the way home from school. His back pack was strapped onto his shoulders and he trudged him, silent and reserved.

"J-John! Wait up!"

Another boy his age joined him, panting hard as his bag jingled with the many keychains he had hooked to his zippers.

"Alex, I told you not to follow me home..." The young boy said simply, not looking up to his friend who just met his side.

Alex let out a loud sigh as he took in deep breaths to catch his breath again.

"But I wanted to come to see ya, buddy!" Alex looked at his quiet friend, "John, you've been like this for the last few days and I know you aren't okay like you keep saying you are."

John looked up at Alex and smiles sadly. He had to give in to his friend's protective tendencies. He wouldn't see the end of it if he didn't.

Besides, Alex always had his way of finding things out indirectly.

Even at his age, he could figure out things that even adults couldn't entirely get through their thick skulls.

Many people thought of it as a curse, but there were some, like John, who saw it as a talent.

How often was one supposed to come across such an intelligent eleven year old boy?

Not very. Not in Alex's case, anyway.

"Well..." John looked around as though he was being sure no one was listening in on their conversation.

There were children playing in the park, laughing as the parents sat on benches outside of the area, watching them do so.

Alex leaned forward, shifting the weight of the book sack on his shoulders slightly to reduce strain.

"Well.....?" He looked at him, tilting his head slightly, "What is it? Laffy Taffy, Herc, and I are worried about you."

John finally looked back at Alex, once he knew that no one was listening to their conversation. He didn't particularly want people to hear and make a fuss out of it.

Because of they knew, John would be in trouble for sure.

"Alex..." He said simply, "I'm in trouble..."

Alex's eyes widened when he heard this and he straightened up.

"Trouble?!" He paled, "John, what happened?"

John shushed him, noticing that Alex's voice began to get louder as he spoke. That was the opposite of what he wanted to happen.

"Alex, please quiet down..." John said, "I don't want... Anyone to hear and make a fuss out of it..."

Alex crossed his arms and dropped his book sack onto the ground under a tree, sitting silently.

"John, you're going to sit down with me." He said, patting the ground beside him, "And you're going to tell me everything that's happening."
