"Hey! Hey! Hey!"
Laughter sounded from the lawn of a large house, four children playing around outside in the grass. Music played from a small MP3 Player on the porch.
"Alex, care to dance with me?" A young boy asked to another.
"You know I'm not good at duets, John!" Alexander laughed, "But I can go freestyle with you as backup!"
"Backup? Excuse me, Mr. Xander!" John playfully pushed him, laughing, "I believe it's the other way around!"
"Oh, yeah?" Alex breathed, the other two boys laughing at them both.
"Yeah!" John crossed his arms.
"Ooooh, John!" Lafayette snickered, nudging Hercules slightly, "Is that a challenge I hear?"
"Oh, this is gonna be good!" Hercules joked with the three of them.
"It can be!" John said, Alex jumping up and getting into his face.
"Oh yeah?! You wanna go?!" Alex leaned in abruptly, John pulling back, "You wanna go, buddy? Huh?!"
"Oh yeah, you know I do!!" John laughed, doing the same and joining him, "Right here! Right now! You and me!"
Hercules bounded to the steps and paused the music that had been playing from the MP3 and he looked back at Lafayette who stood in between the two.
"Okay, okay, okay. Calm down, Cheetah Rivieras." He laughed, having heard that term earlier and believing it was perfect for the situation, "Now. Alex and John are going to dance, Hercules!"
"I know!" Hercules laughed, holding the MP3 player, "Me and You are gonna judge 'Em, right???"
Lafayette nodded and grinned, running back over to him.
"Let the dance off between Johnny Boy and Lexi Hammy BEGIN!!" Hercules called, turning on the music.
John's eyes lit up as he heard the loud bass begun and he grabbed Alex, twisting and turning with him to the beat.
"J-John!" Alex laughed, trying to keep up with him.
"If you're better than me, take control!! If you match me, keep up!" John turned and laughed, popping locking as the beat guided him.
"Great form!" Lafayette deepened his voice, imitating what he imagined an announcer would sound like, "Look at that turn!"
Hercules playfully shoved Lafayette, Lafayette stumbling slightly before teasingly glaring at him.
"And look at that fall!" Hercules snickered, Lafayette playfully punching his arm, watching them again.
John laughed at the two of them and continued dancing, glancing back at Alex several times. The two might have been the closest a friend could be, but they were fierce rivals when it came to dancing head to head.
A masculine face peered out through the window, watching the two of them dance, thoroughly amused.
Alexander's single father, James Hamilton. He smiled as he watched his son out of his lawn with his friend.
"Oh, Alex..." He shook his head, the phone suddenly ringing.
John and Alex finally finished their dance not long later, out of breath. They looked at Lafayette and Hercules expectantly.
But it was soon discovered that neither one had been watching since their little playful argument went through. John flopped onto the grass, gasping for breath. Alex laughed and lay next to him.
