Chapter 2

I sit through the boring art class. Art was so boring that I actually enjoyed math. I honestly had no idea that was possible.

Mrs.Lockhart taught us about LCM and GCF. We learned about the upside down birthday cake method. Boring!

The bell rings and I'm off to my 4th period. As soon as I get into class it's time to go to lunch.

In the cafeteria I find Carmen sitting with a group of tall girls. I cautiously walk over and sit next to her.

I sit there awkwardly expecting Carmen to notice me and introduce me to her friends. I pick at my pizza sticks waiting for her.

"Oh look at Seth! he's such a dork!" a tall dirty blond girl laughs pointing at a boy sitting at a table who just spit out milk.

"Yeah! he's so weird!" Carmen laughs along with her friends.

"Hey Jill isn't that your boyfriend?" I almost choked on my water.

"You have a boyfriend?!" I asked accidentally.

The four girls looked at me surprised. "um. who are you?" a tall brunette asked.

"Oh...I'm...um...uh-" I blush after I get cut off.

"This is Kate!" Carmen says finally.

"Um yeah I have a boyfriend. do you have a problem?" the tall blue eyes brunette asks.

"No!" I shout to fast. "I just don't think 12 year olds should have boyfriends."

"Seriously?"

"Seriously."

"So tell me why you don't have a boyfriend." the brunette says. "I'm Lilly btw!"

"I'm Jill." the dirty blond says.

"And I'm Emma!" the girl who could be Lilly's clone said.

The only way she didn't look like her was her form and height and she had tanner skin.

"Good to know." I said avoiding Lilly's question.

"I bet you have a crush!" Lilly blurted once I finally cooled.

"What?" There I go again. almost choking.

"No I don't have a crush!" I defend myself.

"Whatever." the girls giggle.

"You know your funny. how about you hang out with us!" Jill suggested making me jerk my head up.

Was it just me or did I just make 3 other friends not including Carmen?

"Oh! um yeah that's be great!" I answered quickly.

"Great!" the girls smiled and returned to a conversation (or more specifically, gossip).

After I left the cafeteria I was walking to my locker. I must've taken a wrong turn somewhere cause next thing I knew I was lost in a crowd of eighth graders.

Fear crossed my eyes as the bigger people shoved by me. I was lost and creeped by all the older kids.

"Hey!" a familiar voice greeted.

I jerked around. relieved I saw the boy who shows me too the art room.

"What are you doing up here?" he asks.

"Um...well I kinda got lost." I admit.

"I see." he chuckles.

"Where to?"

"Mrs.Robb's room."

"Come on!" he features me forward.

"Hey I never got your name." I say finally.

"Oh yeah! I'm Cedric!" he said.

"Oh how sophisticated." I said like an adult.

"Oh really? than what is your name may I ask?" he asked in the same tone.

"Kate!" I reply simply.

"Well Kate I can't say that sophisticated." he laughs.

"Yeah I know. my full name is Katrina! But I defiantly go by Kate!" I emphasized on definitely to show how much I hated my full name.

My full name was Katrina Diana Lavern. Oh how I hated that name. I was named after my aunt Diana, my dads sister. she was always a word I cannot say to my mom. she was show off too!

I bet your wondering what happened to my mom, aren't you? okay just admit it! you totally are!

Well here it is...she died se died in a car accident. now I don't like to talk about it so shush!

"Here we are!" the sudden pound of Cedric's voice made me jump.

"Oh! I didn't even realize it!" I said snapping out I my thoughts.

"Well I have to go! bye!" he started down the hall turning back hiving a wave.

I gave a weak wave back. But Cedric didn't see it.

I though back to what Lilly asked me earlier. I rolled my eyes and laughed out loud.

I start over to my locker and throw my things in.ball I really need is my binder.

"Ella will you-" Mrs.Robb gets cut off by the click on the intercom.

"Goooooood afternoon Coyotes!" The principal, Mr.Marson, speaks over the

Intercom. "I hope you all had a wonderful first day back. Welcome to the school sixth graders I hope that you had a great day and found your classes alright! have a great afternoon and we will dismiss now!"

The system beeped and then there was a loud BEEP! that meant school was over.

One day down. 179 to go.
