Jess's POV
I stood at my door, preparing to leave for my daily rounds. It's been two months since I was brought back to the Hall. Sly has chosen to live here permanently in those two months, and I love it.
As I left, I noticed Garroth and Nicole sitting on the docks. I turned that way, to talk to them. "Hi!" I said happily.
"Hi, Lady Jessica." They said in tandem.
We all laughed. "That was a little creepy." I said as we calmed down. "Anyways, what's going on?"
Garroth and Nicole smiled at each other. "We were just about to begin our first date." Nicole said.
My eyes widened. "Well then don't let me ruin it. Bye!" I ran back up the path to the hill overlooking the beach.
Nicole and Garroth were laughing as I left. I found Laurence and Katelyn sparring each other in the old guard tower, and Dante was at Kawaii~chan's.
Brian was talking with his parents. Molly came up to me, Alexis sitting on her hip. "Lady Jessica, I've been meaning to ask- can I open up a school? So all the kids will go there for the day and be taught what they need to know."
I nodded, smiling. "It's a great idea. Go right ahead."
Molly smiled. "Thank you."
Cadenza wasn't in the village, most likely at Castor's, Emmalyn and Kenmur were at the church telling Levin and Malichi about Lady Irene.
Zane was with Kiki in her barn, being 'introduced' to his daughter. I left them in peace.
Donna was helping Logan make some food at his merchant booth. Brendan was helping Issa build a house.
Zoey was at Lucinda's, as usual these days.
Corey and Emma were in their house, sleeping in. Kyle was taking a nap.
Everyone was good.
I sat down on the edge of the well in the plaza, smiling. I was pretty tired these days but it wasn't that surprising. Probably just my body finally being out of stress with everything that had been happening before I was brought to the Hall, so now it's catching up on lost sleep.
Probably. Right?
Eh, whatever. I decided to just enjoy the sunny weather.
Lucinda came over and sat next to me. "Hey." I said, fighting down a little bit of nausea.
"Hey." Lucinda said back. "What's been happening?"
"Nothing much." I replied.
"Suuuuure." Lucinda said skeptically. "That's not true."
"What do you mean?" I asked, honestly confused.
She sighed. "Jessica, it's kind of obvious. Well, to me at least. I learned to be able to tell this kind of thing."
"What's obvious? What kind of thing?"
Lucinda frowned. "You don't know? Like, you really don't know."
"Not a clue." I replied.
She laughed. "Well then. Tell me, what do you think when a woman is constantly tired, nauseous, throwing up a lot, and craves certain foods?"
"Um, well, with all but the last I'd say sick, but including the last, pregnant... No. You're kidding?" I asked.
She shook her head, grinning. "Nope! Congratulations Jess, you're having a baby!"
"Holy cow." I said, before a grin slowly crept onto my face. "This is amazing."
Lucinda laughed again. "Well, don't keep your husband waiting, go tell Sly!" She encouraged.
"How about I do that?" I asked, getting up and walking off. I found Sly in the Guard tower. He's really taken a liking to the guys. "Sly, we need to talk." I said. "In private."
"What did you do?" Laurence asked Sly with a grin.
"Nothing. At least I don't think..." Sly trailed off.
"No, you don't think." I said with a grin of my own. Dante, Garroth, and Laurence roared with laughter. "Anyways, you're not in trouble, now come on."
We went outside and I took him to a spot just under a tree behind the tower to tell him. "What's up, Jess?" He asked.
"I'm pregnant." I said, not hesitating.
Sly's eyes widened. "What? Really?"
"Yeah." I nodded.
He grinned. "That's great!" He picked me up by the waist and spun me around.
"Woah. Dizzy." I said as he set me down. "And-" I threw up in the bushes.
Sly made a face. "That part has gotta suck."
"It does." I said, standing up and wiping my mouth. "Ick." We went back up to the tower, and Sly immediately had me sit down. "Dude, it's only like two months. I'm fine."
"I don't care." Sly said, sitting down. "I'm still going to do that."
"What's going on?" Garroth asked.
"Jess is/I'm having a baby!" Sly and I exclaimed.
They stared. All three of them. "Congratulations!" Dante said.
"Really." Laurence smiled. "Congrats."
Garroth nodded. "I agree, congratulations."
I smiled. "Thanks guys."
Laurence's POV
Okay, honestly, I was seriously happy for Jessica. She and Sly are happy together, and if she's having a baby then so be it.
To be honest, I'm not sure if I'm really still in love with her. Now that I've been spending my time talking to others and thinking about other girls, I noticed it was more like that teenage love. Not true love, but close.
Actually, being totally honest here, I'm kind of interested in Katelyn.
Garroth's POV
Good for Lady Jessica, having a kid. She deserves happiness, and if it's not with me, then at least she's happy.
I might not ever completely move on from her, you can't truly move on all the way from the first person you fell in love with. That person is just unforgettable to people, the first one you felt an undying dedication to.
But that doesn't mean I still love her like I did before. I think I'm actually a lot more into Nicole- she's easier to talk to, shares a lot more interests with me, and yeah.
Dante's POV (all the POV's!)
Yeah! Jessica is having a baby! That's awesome. Ever since I met her, Jessica has been kind of like a sister to me, and I always wondered who she'd end up with (I'm not blind, I know Garroth was into her).
So she's already got a husband and she's now having a kid. Good. Let's hope it's a girl- Levin and Malichi should have a little sister to help keep them in line.
