Chapter 5: Smiling Down

After the incident, I was told by Toru to stay in the studio until he gets everything straightened out. He knew about the article that my little sister showed me this morning. He just wanted to check on me before taking care of the whole misunderstanding before rumors start to spread.

Thinking back at what had happened earlier, I feel my cheeks starting to burn. I can be so clumsy...How did I not notice Toru standing in front of me??

Hearing the door open, I come back to reality and get up from my office chair to stand and face the person who is now in front of me.

"To..ru?"

"Sorry if you were expecting him. Starting today, I will be visiting you in his place," someone who looks like he is in his early thirties speaks to me.

Knowing the reason why, I don't bother to question him. I just nod my head and walk back to my desk.

"If you don't mind me asking..Was Toru-san able to-"

"Yes. But we think it's best if you and he stay away from each other for a while until everything settles down."

"Oh. Okay.."

It has already been three days since I seen Toru.

"I'm finally done!!!!" I yell out loud in relief while throwing my arms and hands out in the air.

My screaming causes the guy who has been stopping by lately instead of Toru to jolt a look at me.

"Great! Now let's go and take it to them."

"...Huh?"

"You're coming with me to go give it to them. They would be happy to meet the artist who helped them create the art of their album cover."

"Wait, you're being serious?"

"Yes.."

"O-Of course I'll go! I mean..Let's go then," I exclaim, trying to sound as calm as I can.

I guess this means that the scandal doesn't matter anymore. Since this project is done, that means I will be able to go through my normal routine again.

Me and the guy who I still don't know the name of arrive at and go inside a gigantic building that I can't tell what is inside or what its purpose is. He continues to lead the way until we go inside a room where we both see Taka, Toru, Tomoya and Ryota. Once we do, I almost go as crazy as my little sister would if she were to see them in person, but as usual, I try to remain as calm and collected as I can, greeting all of them with a genuine smile and bowing to them in respect when each of them look my direction. They would all do the same except for Toru when it came to the introductions. After greeting each other, I am able to give them the final product with my own hands. As expected, they absolutely love it.

Oh, how much I want to yell out in happiness.

I love seeing the look on my customers' face when they see my artwork. It proves that I do have the ability to make someone smile or not and seeing the look on the ONE OK ROCK members' satisfied faces, makes me even happier. After some time, they all thank me and for my work. A group picture is then taken by the middle-aged man.

This is a day I will definitely not forget.

After talking and chilling for a little more, it is already time for me to leave. Before I leave the room though, I tell them that they don't have to see me off nor' escort me out of the room and building. After I do, I leave the room, shut the door closed, and look both sides down each hall as if I'm looking both ways before crossing the street. This was my chance to take a moment to put my thoughts together, breathe, and quietly fangirl at what had just happened.
