'There are moments, when you are getting to know someone, when you realise something deep and buried in them, too. It feels like meeting a stranger you've known for your whole life.'

Chapter 1 - Fate Opened

"Mr Roberts, the Weldor publishers are here to see you. Would you like me to send them in?" I said pressing onto the receiver lightly.

"Sure, but send them in to Patrice first for submission." He replied with his husky, yet clear voice that was now seeping through my ears acting as if it was a harmony to me.

I returned back to my work, clearing my thoughts and resumed typing on the computer situated in front of me but during that time to be interrupted by the same voice that replied.

"Oh and Vic, clear any appointment at two thirty. I have a coffee date with my girlfriend at that time." He directed me and left as a big grin was plastered on my face, including the blush spread across the plums of my cheeks.

God, he really knows how to make me like this.

"I don't think your girlfriend is free at that time, but she can do tonight," I mocked leaning against the glass looking office table, grinning while I overlooked to my shoulder to see his face smirking in defeat at me through the two ginormous glass doors behind me.

"Is she not? Well can you say to her that I'll see her tonight then."

"She sure will and expects Chinese takeout instead of a fancy ass restaurant." Rolling my eyes out in the change of mood.

"Anything that the lady wants!" His voice ran over so sensually through the call as I covered the speaker so that no one would catch or hear us.

I returned to my work that I was assigned with and leaned back on my chair, tapping the floor with the front of my black heels in a sense of thought. Everything that has happened in these two years was nothing but a dream for me, well almost.

The day that I found myself, true self. The day that I realised everything was going to be okay was the day I met Damon.

Damon Roberts. The only salvation of my life.

Even thought the last few years almost felt like a blur to me, I kept on going with my life and finding myself but meeting him all of a sudden felt so right.

Damon although isn't just a random guy I'm dating, he plays a big role of it. Unknowingly did I know he was a rich fellow living in New York, parts of him liked that I didn't know him or for what fancy company he worked for, rather he preferred me to know the good side of him than the one people gossip about. He found me in my confused but darkest time when I had nowhere to go and in within weeks or even days, he fell for me instantly.

Not a love story, but it was something. Honestly I couldn't even imagine myself being in one.

With all the colleagues on the firm telling me how vile, ride, brutal and self centred he was, neither of it mattered to me because I saw the loving, caring and delicate side of him that was hardly shown to anyone else and with just those qualities I felt so special.
