Jessie's P.O.V
"Jessie!!" I heard my dad beckon from down stairs as I dressed for the day, "someone's at the door for you!"
"Coming!" I yelled from my door way.
I wore a simple pair of cut off blue Jean shorts and a navy tank top. I evaluated my outfit, deciding it was okay, I ran down stairs to anwser the door.
I opened the door and a small figure stood with her back to the door, her dirty blonde hair in a messy bun. She wore a rockfest shirt and shorts that made her butt look really good but I won't mention that to her.
She turned around and flashed a nervous smile at me."Hey, I was wondering if you wanted me to show you around today?" she looked at her feet as she spoke.
"Yeah sure. I didn't have anything planned today." I said with a smile.
She looked up at me and smiled, I returned it with wink.
She blushed bright red."Okay, when do you want to go?"
"Right now." I said stepping out the door and shutting it behind me.
"Oh, okay" she said looking a little shocked but let it go and I followed her as she walked down the side walk.
I could get used to this view... No stop it. Quit gawking. You are a civilized woman, you're not like That anymore. That ship has sailed, and it will never happen again!
I thought, trying to chastise myself."So what's the school like up here?" I asked, paying no attention to where we were going.
"Crazy. There's always something going on, crazy events some of the students put together to ensure the chaos." she spoke like silk, unlike before when she sounded nervous at the door. Her voice strong without waver, or a single crack, but at the same time it was fair and soft.
"Oh?"
"Oh yeah, last year someone put pink hair dye in the shampoo in the boys locker room, the whole football team had pink hair for a month. The coach made up that it was for cancer awarness but my friend Danny knew it was just a cover up." She laughed with a shake of her head.
"How did he know?" I questioned burrowing my brow.
"He was the one that did it." She giggled as she looked back at me.
"I have another question."
"What's that?"
"How is it so hard for me to keep up with you? My legs are way longer than yours!" I exclaimed with a huff.
"I do track. Three year state champ." she said sounding too amused.
"You won state three years in a row?"
"No, I won 7th and 8th grade but then in 9th grade I fractured my shin right before try outs and I couldn't run that year, but I came back and won state in 10th grade." She said as we stopped at a hair and nail salon.
"Are we getting our nails done or are we getting a hair cut?" I added with a smirk.
She chuckled at me.
"No silly, my dad works here, I just wanted to stop by so you could meet him." She smiled and strode in the door."Oh well okay." I said and followed suit.
An average dark hair man greeted us as we walked into the quaint Salon.
The salon was a small room with three sections on each wall including a mirror and a salon chair in each one. There was a closet I asume contained hair products and other salon materials.
"Hey skylar! Who's this?" he question with a nod of his head,I asume this man is her dad.
He swept the floor As he spoke, shuffling around."This is Jessie, the girl that just moved in next door." skylar replied.
"Hello jessie! I'm Stephen Wilkerton, but you can call me Stephen."
I smiled and waved, " Hi, its nice to meet you Mr. Wilkerton."
"Please call me Stephen." He replied as he swept up the dirt pile into a slot at the bottom of the little closet.
"Okay well were gonna go stroll around town ill be home before dinner tonight", Skylar said as she lightly tugged on my arm, pulling me out the door.
