Rain

As I listen to the pitter patter of the rain

I sit and ponder why I feel this way

Remembering my broken past

Feeling haunted and deeply aghast

Listening to the booms of the storms

I lay and think how my life's been torn

Both sides are equally unpleseant

Both sides are full of resent

Listening to the gushing winds

Remembering all my faults, all my sins

Even if I apologize and repent myself

I'll still never forgive myself

As I watch the flash of the lightning

I find my thoughts much too frightening

I try as hard as possible

To block these thoughts that are unstopable

As I watch the fall of the rain

I continue to feel this horrible pain

I wish I knew a way to make better days

But such a thing is a hopeless aim
