"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to dear Hiccup happy birthday to you" chanted the Hiccup's friends as he stood inthe middle beaming with happiness.

The lighted candles glowed at his face and a wide grin was plastered on his face.

His eyes searched the crowd till he finally spotted the redhead at the very back of the room.

She was leaning against the wall, her eyes downcast. She was wearing a blue dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up till her elbow and denim jeans.

Repunzal had even touched her up with a little makeup. The eyeliner made her ocean blue eyes bigger and the light pink gloss made her lips more defined.

Merida looked up and for a moment their eyes met. Immediately blush crept on Hiccup's cheeks but Merida just gave him a sad expression. An expression she never gave him before which made Hiccup tense.

"Hiccup cut the cake!" Jack said patting him onthe back, making him snap back to reality.

He just glanced one more time at Merida who looked away.

His girlfriend Astrid gave him the knife and they both hand in hand cut the cake, while the crowd cheered.

He then gave everyone a bite from the peice he had cut and turned his attention back to the redhead who had disappeared from her spot.

Frantically he looked around and finally spotted her leaving.

He looked back and saw his friends and girlfriend occupied. So he followed the red head out of the door.

Merida sensed someone following her, and glanced back a second seeing the fimilair green eyes, she fastened her pace.

Hiccup also started now running after, trying to keep up with her but his fake leg was making it hard. Merida knew this and stopped, might as well have this conversation as well, she thought bitterly.

"What do you want now, Hiccup?" She asked her back turned to him.

"I..I.don't know" he answered looking down, his hair covering his eyes.

"Then why are you after me? I thought we were done. Finnished. After all you were the one who ended this" Merida said her voice now shaking.

"Mer, I am sorry" Hiccup said still looking down.

'A sorry doesn't do anything"

"I know but i-"

"You told me that I was too independent, that I didn't spend enough time with you." Merida said finally facing him with tears framed in her eyes.

Hiccup slowly nodded,. " Wasn't my independent personality, the one in which you fell in love with and even if you wanted my attention. You could have talked to me, we could have figured out this like how a real couple does but no" she said her voice shaking.

"I don't know what I did back then" Hiccup started.

"Your saying it was mistake!, doesn't sound a mistake to me. I mean if we even fought and broke up and then you realized you could have come and said sorry-"

"See Mer!, it's always me who is apologizing!!. Why can't you except your mistake"

" Hiccup what happened between us is now finnished, I am not answerable to you. Go enjoy your party with your friends and girlfriend" she said the last word bitterly.

"How can I enjoy when one of my most important friend is not present inthe party" He said his voice raising.

"Hiccup, please dont expect this much from me. Have you any idea, how it feels for me when I see you two together. Laughing, joking, being lovey dovey. I still have feelings for you. Sadly I can't move on that easily. Just because I act tough doesn't mean I dont have a heart. I have a heart which is broken, bruised and needs healing not getting stabbed at every day." She said and the first time Hiccup witnessed Merida crying.

"It Hurts, Hiccup it hurts" she said her voice muffled by tears.

"Merida please dont cry, you know your making me very miserable on my birthday" he said kneeling beside her

"I am sorry" she said finally standing up and wiping her tears.

"I am sorry, have a good life with Astrid" she said giving him one last hug. Which they both wanted to last forever but sadly it ended.

"Happy birthday" she said managing her grin.

And with that she left leaving Hiccup confused, heartbroken and dumbfounded.

Hiccup just glanced back at the leaving figure one last time before going back to the party.

Out of the whole conversation, only two words kept spinning in his head. It hurts

Two weeks

"Merida!! Wait up!!" A figure said running towards her but tripped instead and fell face first onthe ground.

Merida turned around and lightly giggled at the person who was still lying onthe ground muttering some curse words.

"What is it?" She asked kneeling next to the figure, as he lifted his head off the ground.

"You forgot your text book in class and we have homework of it" the person replied lifting his hand as he handed her the book.

"Thank you, so much. Mr Hook would have killed me" she said as she helped him up.

"I like to see him try" he replied and they would laughed and Merida started to walk away but was stopped again.

"Oh and Merida...I was wondering...maybe you would like to hang..out later on. If your free." He asked scratching the back of his head nervously.

Merida froze for a moment, did she want this all again. All the pain and heart break. Was she ready?. She glanced back at the pair of light brown eyes which were looking worried due to the lack of response from her side.

"I would love too" she finally answered, the light in her blue eyes slowly returning.

The light brown eyes also twinkled with excitement and happiness.

"So it's a date?" He asked nervously.

"Its a date" she confirmed with a confident smirk that she hadn't used for a long time.

"So five? The ice cream parlour near Robin hood's training ground?" He asked his grin getting wider and wider.

"Perfect, meet you there" Merida said ruffling his ginger hair as she walked off to her next class.

"Am so in love" he said as he waved her goodbye and headed to the opposite direction.

"And I think I am still " our fimilair Burnett said, he was spying their entire conversation. He had been spying the pair for sometime. The big five has broken, Merida left it after the day of the party. She still talks to Repunzal and Elsa since they both live near her, she also still talk to Jack since he has Maths, P.E, Arts and drama with her. The only person she doesn't talk to, is Hiccup.

But the main question was did "Merida still have feelings for me" he whispered.

"Well atleast, she was right about one thing. It hurts."

Ok sorry for the low class oneshot. I know it's neither drama, nor sad or anything. I don't know which category it fits to. I wrote this half when I was angry with one fanficton and the original chapter which was gonna get published. Got deleted by wattpad which made me enough angry to finnish this chapter. Sorry again and bye for now.
