"Sire, it seems there has been another incident with the House of York. Two of their people have said to have fled in order to ally themselves with the House of Lancaster" said Jess as he stood before the King. The King merely chuckled softly. "The House of York? They are losing their people quite fast. Who has fled this time, Jester?" he asked, gazing to the younger man as he spoke. "It is Ava Woodville and David Johnson, Sire. They are said to have fled in the early hours of Friday morning" The King merely chuckled. "I always said that the two of them would do this someday. Ava is close to Sir Richard Neville, and David is close to Sir George Plantagenet. It was only a matter of time before they did this, Jester. What do their families think of this?"
"Ava's family are most displeased, Sire.  And David's family are not too pleased either. The House of York has sent out Sir Henry Stafford and Sir John Howard to search for the pair. So far, there has been no news on their location. But I have heard that Sir Henry Stafford is not happy. Everyone knows his feelings towards the young Ava Woodville, Sire. He has lusted after her for a while" Once more, the King chuckled softly. "Sir Henry Stafford has lusted after her for over a year now, Jester. And she has shown that she does not share the same feelings. Yet he still seeks her heart. I know where it truly lies, Jester. If she is successful in getting to the House of Lancaster, it will be clear soon enough. But for now. We must wait and see what comes of such actions. She and David are young and impressionable. If they meet anyone other than our Knights along the way, they may be swayed to turn against the crown. And should that happen, you must make sure that the House of Lancaster are ready to seek out the pair. If the House of York reaches them first, there could be a fight on our hands. Jester. I would like for you to call upon the House of Lancaster. Have the Knights come to the castle this evening. We will discuss this over a meal. Tell the Knights to come with open minds, Jester. They need to be understanding of what I have to say"
Jester nodded, "Yes, Sire. I will seek them out right away" With that, Jester hurried from the room, heading straight out of the castle to call upon the House of Lancaster's Knights. The Knights had lived on the castle grounds for some time, and weren't too far away should the need arise for them to meet with the King.
"Sir Richard Neville, Sir George Plantagenet. The King has requested your presence at a small meal tonight. He has something that he wishes to discuss with you. It is about a recent incident within the House of York, and it is vital that he speaks to you on the matter" said Jester as he came upon the Knights as they were tending to their horses. The two Knights, both fairly young and of muscular build looked to Jester. Nodding at his words. "Is it that important, Jester?" asked Sir Richard Neville as he cleaned his hands, walking forwards slightly. "Oh yes, Sir Richard Neville. A small detail. Two members of the House of York have fled in hopes of allying themselves with the House of Lancaster. I will leave it to the King to discuss this further"
Sir Richard Neville and Sir George Plantagenet shared a small look. "Inform the King that we will be there shortly" replied Sir Richard Neville, watching Jester for a moment before tossing the dirty rag he had used onto the fire. With that, Jester nodded, turning and hurrying back to the King. He personally couldn't wait to hear what would be said about the issue. There were so many risks and incidents that could all happen. There could be a rebellion against the crown. There could be another war. It somewhat excited him to know that so much could come of such an incident. But at the same time, it was worrying. The House of York could be notoriously ruthless when they had to be. But at the same time. So could the House of Lancaster.
In the end. It was all down to how the Knights of each respective house dealt with this.
