Chapter Thirteen

Jade Caswell

“Okay, I’ll be back on Monday baby, call me when you need me alright?” Michael was leaving for a little ‘trip’, he said he had to handle grown man business with his partners. Chris was going as well, so Lauren was going to stay with me until they got back. It was going to be fun. Girl time.

“Alright, can you at least tell me where you’re going?” He wouldn’t tell me where they were going, but he said he’d be close enough to get to me if he had to.

“Nah, don’t worry about it. I’ll be here when you wake up Monday morning. Gimme kiss.” I was laying across my bed on my stomach, so I flipped over and waited for Michael to come over and kiss me.

Our lips connected and I nipped his juicy bottom lip before grabbing his cheeks and pulling him closer. I didn’t want him to go, ugh, I was so whipped.

“Alright, unless you’re giving it up I gotta go.” Michael laughed and kissed me one more time before pulling away.

“Ugh, come back soon.” I groaned and lifted myself off of the bed so I could lock the door when he left.

“Alright, I need you to do something for me though, put this under your pillow.” Michael reached into his cargo pants waistband and pulled out a small handgun. I had kind of gotten used to seeing Michael’s guns, because he always had one on him, but I wasn’t going to have a gun.

“No.”

“Jade, don’t start this shit right now. Just take it please.” He tried to hand me the gun, but I wouldn’t touch it. Nope, no, no, no.

“No Michael, no. I’m not taking that shit. I’ll do anything else, just not that.”

“Ugh, you’re gonna make me late. Alright, take these and put them in your purse, and car then. No negotiations. I gotta go, I’ll see you Monday.  Lock the door.” Michael placed two bottles of pepper spray on one of the dressers and walked out of the apartment.

I wanted him to say he loved me when he left, but I guess not. Lately every time I looked at Michael I felt something different. Something stronger than how I’d felt for anyone. I think I loved him, I was just too scared to admit it.  I wanted to love Michael, I was just scared that he didn’t feel the same, and that I’d lose him eventually.

Even though Michael and I didn’t talk about his business, I knew he was in deep. They way he just threw around money, and carried guns showed that. It scared me. Who knew that my first love would be a drug Lord? I definitely didn’t. I thought I’d be with a normal guy, with a well paying normal job, who came home at five o’clock and left for work at six. Instead I had to fall in love with a tall, tattoo covered guy who was in love with the streets. Wow, my life had taken such a turn.
