One month later-
Rhett and I had just announced our relationship a few days after our pancake fight. It's kind of like we were the next Zalfie... Ok maybe not quite, but fans had come up with Rhamy. Cute, right?
Rhett, Link, and I had just finished up a taping of Me Time. Every other Tuesday, I did something called Taste Test Tuesday. Who better to have on than them, y'know? Link stuck around for about an hour after, until he had to leave to pick up his kids from a homeschool co-op. Rhett on the other hand stayed a while after, seeming to get me side tracked and caught up in doing things with him. It was kinda cute in an annoying kind of way.
"Y'know, I've been thinking. I have never had the privilege of taking you on a real date." He spoke, looking down at me as we sat on my sofa watching a weird movie on SyFy we got caught up in.
"Oh yeah." I said with furrow brows, just realizing that was true.
"But," he continued. "That will change tonight." He grinned mischievously.
"Oh?" I asked with a growing grin.
"Yep. I'm going to pick you up at six thirty, but everything else remains a surprise." His grin grew and busted into a full smile.
"Y'know, a surprise is like a jacked up secret. And we're not supposed to be keeping secrets from each other." I pointed out as innocently as possible.
"Smart ass." He chuckled deeply.
"What did you call me?" I gasped dramatically.
"Beautiful." He muttered against my lips that instantly got caught between mine.
We stayed there for several minutes, letting the moment gradually progress. We pulled apart with stupid smiles on our faces, and I gradually made progress to my front door.
"Alright, hot shot, go get ready for this big surprise while I get some work done." I grinned, placing my hand on the handle.
"I really could stay and help." He grinned, wrapping his long arms around my waist.
"I'm sure you could, but I just need a few hours." I chuckle, causing him to huff in a childlike manner.
"I love you." He grinned, planting a soft kiss on my lips.
"Love you too. Bye." I said, opening the door and lightly pushing him out.
"Alright, I'll be here at six thirty." He reminded me as I began closing the door.
"Ok."
"On the dot."
"Yep."
"And I'll call you every five minutes."
"Right."
"And I miss you already."
"Mhm."
"I love you!"
"I love love you more!" I exclaimed, before closing the door so he couldn't argue against me.
Damn that man.

I had literally just slipped on my converse when there was a knock at my door. I glanced at the clock, to see it was 6:31. A smirk crept onto my lips as I walked to the door.
"You're late, McLaughlin. First date and your already showing up late." I groaned, earning a cute scowl in response.
"It was 6:30 when I pulled into the apartment parking lot!" He retorted, making me chuckle.
"Chill, I was just kidding. Kind of." I winked, grabbing my hoodie and slipping out of the door.
We made our way down to the parking garage where Rhett's FJ was parked right next to my car.
"So, where are we going?" I asked, clasping my hands together.
"Somewhere away from the city." He grinned, causing me to raise my brows in suspicion, but only getting a wink in response.
Hi! Sorry it's been a while. This is a bit boring, but I'll have the actual date next update. I've been working on two new stories that'll be out soon, so I've been a tad busy. Thanks for reading, commenting, and liking!
