Thats what was missing. Unicorn. No sound of the clicking of her nails against the floor when she runs to the door to meet us. No sound of the whimper she cries while jumping on us. Just complete silence.
Me: I...I...
Shane: WHERE IS SHE.
Shane broke down. I bet no one new he was so emotional, but he is. Corny was like a daughter to us. If we can't even take care of Unicorn, what happens when we have a human child?!?
*Shane's POV*
I hate crying in front of Lisa but what the fuck would I be doing? UNICORN IS MISSING! She's either dead, looking at the sight of the house she was probably squished by the shelf, or she ran out of the house. I decided to start searching.
Lisa: SHANE WHAT ARE YOU DOING?
Me: I'm not going to sit here like a piece of shit. I'm stepping up and going to find Corny..
Lisa: THEIRS GLASS EVERYWHERE.
Shane: I have shoes on, right?
Lisa hesitated. She knew I was right. Even if I was to get a piece of glass in my foot, I would still be trying to find Corny.
Lisa: Oh.. Okay... Be careful..
I stepped forward and all I heard was the sound of glass behind me. I turned around to see Lisa trying to follow me.
Me: Lisa.. cmon, you know this is too dangerous for you.
Lisa: I have shoes on, RIGHT?!?
Me: Fine. You search the living room. I'll search all the others.
Lisa: Love you.
She gave me a little kiss on the cheek and started to search. Thank god she stole some of those protective gloves from the doctor. She would've been cut up by now! As I walked down the hallway, I heard rummaging. The sound of it made me wanna go into the office, so I did. When I walked in the room was wrecked. The only thing weird about this was that me and Lisa's computer's were left unharmed, along with the area around our desks. Just a circle around our desks... Hmmm.
Lisa: How's it going in their!?!
Me: FINE!
We screamed back and forth to each other what are progress was.
Lisa: I FOUND MY PHONE CHARGER SO ITS ALL GOOD!
I started cracking up. I began my hunt again when the sound of Lisa's footsteps stopped.
Me: Lisa?
Lisa: I'm sorry Shane but I'm gonna take a break and go to Taco Bell or something because I am STARVING!
Me: Haha! alright! but ONLY since you haven't eaten since the hospital.
Lisa: K Shane! BRB!
I heard the door shut.
I felt a little lonely when she left, I always do. She's my everything, along with Unicorn. I decided to call her name to see if she would come.
Me: Unicorn!
Huh? I thought I heard something. Must be my imagination.
Me: UNICORN!?!
This time it was clear. The bedroom.
I could hear her whimpering.
Me: UNICORN IM COMING!
I tried to get past the shelf in the door but it didn't work, so I broke it up into sections and managed to get through.
Me: UNICORN.
There she was, under a shelf like I thought. She doesn't seem hurt though. She was lucky enough to squirm into a comfortable position.
I lifted up the shelf and Unicorn immediately came jumping into my arms.
???: H-help..
Me: Huh?
???: S-Shane, help...
