Chapter 23: Gone

Shane's POV-

*1 Week later*

I hadn't seen Joey around. He wasn't posting YouTube videos anymore, their was nothing said or seen from him. I have to forget about him but its hard. I mean, he was my best friend. I feel horrible because I'm still going to propose to Lisa and he had just told me he loved me. Great, now he's going to think I purposely proposed. I tried to keep Joey out of my mind so I could focus on editing.

Lisa: Hey Shaney.

Me: Oh, hey.

Lisa walked over to where I was sitting.

Lisa: You've been editing for over 5 hours, can you at least talk to me sincerely instead of looking at your Mac screen?

I turned around to Lisa and looked her in the eyes.

Me: Well what do you want to talk about?

Lisa: Well...

Their was an awkward pause.

Me:...Well..?

*Lisa's POV*

I wanted to but I couldn't. It was a perfect moment but I didn't want to risk it, especially since he recently lost a good friend. I changed my mind.

Me: Never mind.

Shane: Um you have my attention, now tell me whats wrong.

Me: Forget it...

I turned around to walk out of the room but Shane grabbed my arm and spun me around, so I had to look him straight in the eyes.

"I know somethings wrong." Shane said concerned, staring at me.

"N-Nothing..." I stuttered out.

Shane: Lisa...

Me: W-What...?

I stared into his deep, blue eyes. I couldn't resist the urge. I grabbed his face and placed his lips on mine. I released him after about 4 seconds.

Shane: What made you wanna do that?

Me: I don't know, it just came to me.

Shane: Well that was a surprise!

*Shane's POV*

I was waiting for that to happen. We haven't kissed in what felt like forever. I wanted more than I got, but I had to get back to editing.

Lisa: Well I'm going to go pick up some pizza for dinner, I'll be back.

Me: Okay, love you.

Lisa: love you too!

She walked out of the room, got her jacket, shoe's, and purse, then left out the door. I turned back around to my desk when it hit me. This was the perfect time to go check on Joey. I feel like I've been doing it alot lately and I don't like it at all, but its what I have to do. I immediately stood up from my chair. I got my stuff to leave and was off to Joey's. When I had arrived, a weird feeling came to me. I don't know what the hell it was but all I knew was it wasn't a pleasant feeling. I nervously walked up to Joey's apartment and knocked on the door. Surprisingly, on my first knock the door eased open just enough for me to go in. I wanted to, but thats impolite. I peered into the apartment to see if someone opened it for me, but I could barley see anything in the pitch black room. The door creaked open a little more. It felt like it was begging for me to walk inside. You know that feeling you get when you watch a horror movie and the character walks into the house and gets brutally murdered? Thats what I imagined would go down today. I mean, it was the perfect setting. Pitch black apartment, no one to be seen in the halls, door opening by itself, it all seemed kinda like a nightmare. I braced myself for the worst as I decided to open the door more. I put my hand on it and pushed it so it would swing open, which happened. At that moment a horrible stench filled my nose. I couldn't see anything, I couldn't hear anything, I could only smell that sour smell. What was the cause of it? I thought about it for a second before I found the light switch and turned on the light.

I was shocked. I pulled out my phone and dialed the three numbers.

Operator: Hello, 911, Whats your emergency?

Shane: My best friend is dead.

WHAAAAT?!? Lol, so um I didn't feel like writing alot so here is what I managed to type up for you guys! Sorry I don't post much anymore :c
