Chapter 29: Confessing

I sat on the couch with Lisa as she watched TV, not realizing how nervous I was. I decided on telling her.

Each and every second ticked by, screaming at me to confess.

Me: Hey... Lis?

Lisa: Huh?

Her eyes pierced into mine. I don't understand why I would cheat on her with Joey in the first place. She's beautiful.

Me: I need to tell you something...

Lisa: What..?

I shifted my eyes towards the ground as I gave myself a few seconds to process what I was about to divulge. I felt very apprehensive about it, but I managed to utter it out.

Me: I cheated on you with Joey...

Lisa: W-What..?

I said it too straight forward. Fuck, it was too simple, no important details were given.

Lisa: How could you do that to me Shane! You were everything to me!

Me: You're still MY everything Lis! I love you and thats why I told you! It was one night and I did it because I thought he would befriend me again!

Lisa: Thats bullshit Shane! Haven't we been through this same exact fight before?!?

Before I could say another word, she deserted me. Great, now I'm all alone. No Joey OR Lisa, and I'm pretty sure my other friends will think I'm a douche too.

The last fight we had ended in a hospital trip to go see her. I won't let it happen this time. I wont be such a simpleton to leave her this time.

I won't let her go without a fight.

*Lisa's POV*

What an ass. Fuck him, he never loved me. I bet he's been with Joey this whole time. How fatuous am I?!? It was so damn obvious this whole time.

I had just go to my car. Once I got in, I put the key in its slot and turned it with fiery. I quickly drove away from the building and made my way to the nearest hotel. I knew something was going on. I should've followed him to Joey's like I was going to.

Once I arrived, I quickly got a room. Once I walked into the room, I sat on the bed for a second. Wow, all these years he's actually been gay. Eh, maybe bi, but still.

You know that feeling when you cry for a long time and then stop because theirs no effort left to anymore, no fucks to give?

Yeah, it sucks.

That's just the truth though. Everyone either cries or dies in the end, unless its one of those "Happily Ever After" types of shit again.

I thought "Happily Ever After" was real before,

But now its crap to me.

*Shane's POV*

Following Lisa felt like the longest amount of time I've ever experienced in my entire life. Chasing the one you love isn't the ideal way to spend time you know.

Guess I gotta deal with it though.

I arrived maybe 5 minutes after Lisa had. I managed to tell the guy at the front desk I was her boyfriend and "she got here earlier then me because it was a race". Idiots these days. I got to her room and unlocked the door.

Lisa: Shane, what the fuck is your problem?!?

Me: look, let me explain!

"More like to my damn face.." Lisa had mumbled.

Me: Look, I love you. With all my heart, with everything I could love you with. You're the epitome of perfect, and thats no lie. Listen to me, you mean more to me then Joey ever would, ever WILL. I know this whole stereotypical speech means fucking nothing because in every damn movie they do this, (at that moment she had giggled), but it would mean the world to me for one, JUST ONE, more chance.

She gave me a weak smile as she finally looked up into my eyes. I got closer to her as I locked lips with hers.

It wasn't a 30 second long one, nor was it a 3 second one, but it was just the right amount of time to make that moment seem to perfect to be true.

In that split second,

that one simple yet huge event,

I realized I,

For sure,

Wanted to marry Lisa.
