Here's another one of my poems. It is my recent. However, I didn't write this because I just want to. It is because were required to write it for our assignment.

Nonetheless, I treasure it because somehow... it is related to D.N. Angel, my all-time favorite anime! ;) lol.

This is a sonnet, btw...

CONFUSION

-by: Santi7899

Now I see, never time does matter much.

It flies so quick, unbearably apace.

To those who wonder, to those who cannot touch;

Won't they know ever how startling heart race?

Is it wrong to love when you are cursed?

Have I no right to joyous be with thee?

Just glance, one chance to me had just arised;

Should I be picky amid kin and thee?

Up to now, I haven't decided yet.

Force me not, I can't deem clear what I sought.

To ask me of this is a silly bet.

Thus, even at my dream and at my thought,

Both of you are buried deep in my heart.

Does love possess thine cruelty of art?

---

It's pretty obvious, my thought are going nowhere. I just wrote it because I want to have something to pass. That is what I thought at first.

Sonnets may seem easy to write. Others thinks that there just has to be 14 lines and rhymes at the end, but that's not the entire thing!

Writing sonnets follow 3 main rules:

Rule 1: There has to be 14 lines. No more, no less.

Rule 2: Use Shakespearean rhyme: ababcdcdefefgg. We are all knowledgeable of who the great William Shakespeare is, right? The writer of the famous contemporary "Romeo & Juliet". In turn, Mr. William Shakespeare has written more than 180 sonnets, or so I think. That's why the Shakespearean rhyme has been popular and common up to this age.

Rule 3: Write in IAMBIC PENTAMETER. It is the most challenging part of the sonnet. Iambic pentameter applies per line. Every line should contain 10 syllables, or 5 pairs of syllables. In each pair, the first one must be accented (arsis), and the latter must be unaccented (thesis). That gives all the hardships and nose bleed in writing even just one sonnet.

That's all. ^-^
