It wasnt fair. That was the mantra you repeated in your mind all day. You had been dating Takeda for the longest time- 7 months, actually- and he just threw it away. You felt like garbage; nothing could have been worse. You tried talking to your team; Cassie said that you should just let it go and move on.

But it was more than that. You were hurt... Inside and out.

So, not knowing anywhere else to go, you walked through the forest not too far from the Lin Kuei temple. It was cold there as usual, but as you hugged you arms closer to yourself, you felt the cold much more than before.

"(Y/N)?" A deep voice called out to you, making you look up. Your eyes met...his...and you almost instantly relaxed.

"Kuai." You said, addressing him by his first name. He smiled at this, walking to you and enveloping you in a hug. You blushed and smiled, hugging him back.

When you both pulled away, his smile faded as he looked at your sad expression.

"(Y/N)? Is something the matter?" He asked, hid proper talk making you smile just a bit more; however, this smile was forced and he knew this. You felt his gaze on you and looked down, hanging your head. His cold hands reached up, cupping your cheeks and guiding you to look up at him. Your cheeks burned; your hands reached up and held his.

"Tell me, (Y/N). What is the matter?" He reworded his question, turning it into an order.

At that point, everything came out. You shattered, tears pooling in your eyes and spilling down your cheeks. A sob came from your throat as you cried, only crying harder as Kuai drew you closer to him. He rubbed your back and soothed you, telling you it would be alright. Finally, after you could speak clearly, you said the first thing that came to mind.

"I'm not...worthy of anyone..." You hiccupped. Again, you felt the hands on your cheeks, moving you to look at Kuai. The sadness in his expression almost made you think he would start to cry as well, but instead he softly placed his lips on yours.

You froze; his cold, soft lips pressing again yours gently. You blushed and closed your eyes, pressing your lips to his as well. Once again, you pulled away, looking into his eyes.

"K-Kuai...?" You said slowly, making him smile.

"Yes, it is true." He chuckled, holding your shoulder with his thumb.

"I love you, (Y/N)."
