I woke up to the sound of the door opening and groaned. Suddenly I felt a slim finger jab me in the shoulder.

"One more minute..." I yawned and was poked again.

"Nope, get up. I have lunch and it's getting cold." Ray said as she waved a plate of pancakes in my face.

I sat up slowly and pushed the plate away.

"Good, you're alive" She joked.
"Now, I've got pancakes, yogurt, waffles, and cereal. Pick your poison."

I blinked a few times and selected the waffles and cereal. As I picked up the spoon, I winced and dropped it. My hand felt like it was still burning from the inside out.

"Oh, yeah, I can help with that. C'mon, hand it over." She said as if she remembered that this was the reason she was here.

I held out my injured hands and let her treat them. Much better.

After she finished redoing my bandages, a familiar voice asked for entrence.

"Little pigs, little pigs, let me in." My dad called. That was our little joke since that was my favorite story as a kid.

"I know this one, and no you can't eat us. If you even try, I will go phsyco lumberjack on you." Ray yelled through the door.

We all laughed and ate the left over food. Apparently I missed a lot while I was out. Aside from the current prisoner situation, Ray almost attacked the council because they told her that I would need to go home due to lack of training.

As if that wasn't enough, she was locked up for the night after. While she was grumbling in a cell, the others had to fight the battle alone. I'm glad they did though, because I am definitely not ready to go home yet. I couldn't help but wonder what would have happened if I was sent back.

Not wanting to talk about it more, we got right back to business.

"As far as I know, the demon is still downstairs. There is no chance she can get out now though, the whole building is locked down until further notice. Guards have been placed at every door and the weapons closet is being redone since the mini 'splosion you caused." My dad said with a smile and patted my arm.

After lunch, they left me to rest. I stared up at the white ceiling and thought it over.

Lack of training? Are you kidding me?! There's no way I'm leaving now. Well, now I have a point to prove. Would he rather do it himself? Yeah right, he can't fight. They can't do this. I saved her life. I should get a medal, not a one way ticket.

I kept getting myself worked up. Once again, Ray's oxygen deprived face came into my head. And with it, Blood's voice.

"Hello, Marisa. Do you think that your little stunt went unnoticed? You took away my top scout, and I'm gonna need her back. Either you let her go, or we come get her. Your pick." He said angrily.

I froze and tried to ignore the throbbing in my clenched fists. There was no way I'd let him take over my head because, well, it's mine and he can't have it.

"Don't bother fighting me, Nelton. You can't win. Just give up, hand over my partner. You know, she's a better sister to me then poor, pathetic Raven ever was. I can sense your pain. You may want to take it easy on your palms." Just as fast as he came, he was gone.

I relaxed a little and opened my hands. He was right. I saw thin crimson lines running down where I dug my nails in. Whoops.
