I wanted to remind some people that there is another book written by @laurmau4ever_152 called "the secret: never to be known." based around the same concept with slight changes and longer chapters. I suggest you read it after this. And this is a longer chapter so don't expect anything on Monday.
Plus WARNING this is a little gorey in some parts. Readers digression advised. Having warning, leave or enjoy.Shadow's POV
I woke up on the side of the road. Blood dripping from my head and arms. Cuts through my leather jacket making my back look shredded and mine, and possibly others blood staining my gray shirt. I seen Lizzy a few feet across from me clenched into a tight ball with bruises on her head and face. Her jeans had a long slice with dark blood leaking out of her leg. Alice and Ace next to the car, which was turned over. Alice didn't look too hurt, aside from being unconscious, but I wish I could say the same for Ace. A cut was very visible on his head and blood was seaping out of it. It looked like he blocked Alice from the damage, but his body was scratched up so much it looked like he won't be able to walk to the house. Glass was stabbing through his shirt on his bloody back. Mackenzie trying to get up, but couldn't due to her right leg snagged in a prickly bush. She seem less hurt than the rest, seeing how she was still conscious. She still had a cuts but was mostly bleeding around her leg that was entangled with the bushes thorns and on her hands as she tries to get out. She was the lucky one out of us, even if her face had two cuts across her face that traveled down her neck. My head thumping like a drum as I tried to remember what happened. Then it dawned on me. We must have been attacked by the shadows. No one could do this much damage. It would also explain why I can't remember anything else, but if one thing was sure, we won. There is only one way of telling if we won. That is if we are still living. The only thing that was of was that they usually attack at night, not in the afternoon. This helps them erase the memories completely. Then my head thumped again, and I remember that this was not the first time they have attacked during the day.
Flashback
Herrera ran in to the forest. She was upset that Ace didn't want us to be together. The reason that if you loved one of the power users, you would save them instead of the humans if in any danger. It was was in the afternoon, usually safe for going out. This time the shadows appeared, unusual for them because the darkness helps them hide. I tried to get to her, but I was too far away. Even if I had ran, which I tried, I couldn't save her. I heard her scream through the forest. I knew I was too late. The only thing left was the shreads of her and the fading smile of Donevan, that shadow leader.Reality
If I was there fast enough I wouldn't just have witnessed it, but stopped. I was so stupid. Letting Herrera go and run in the forest was the worst mistake ever in my life. Seeing her get ripped to shreads, then the laughing of the leader. That was why I quit the shadow army. I no longer wanted to see the torturing of others. Although that did come with a price, my shadows form. Now I can't shift into a shadow or hide inside shadows made by the sun, but it was worth it to get away from Donevan. He was a ruthless killer who only kills power users and other creatures of that nature to gain more power. no one knows how to defeat him. All anyone says about the subject is "gather all the powers." or "fate will tell." Plus I still am able to shape shift for hours at a time in the day.
Mackenzie's POV
I guess that I was the only one who remembered anything about the fight. Everyone else was unconscious, and this is what happens when the shadows wipe your memory. This was strange for them to be out but pleasing for me. I'm usually unconscious while others fight. This time I won, and I seen something that made me more happy then anything. I found out that Donovan is NOT human. He is a shadow leader. I need to get everyone to the house before on my plan of destruction starts to plan how to destroy his butt. Just then I noticed that Shadow was awake. I yelled, "Hey can you help me out of this bush." I heard him yell back. "How are we gonna get everyone to the clinic."
"Do you think you are strong enough to pick Ace and Alice up?"
"Maybe."
Just then Alice got up and shook her head. Shadow called out and said.
"Hey, now you have help with Ace."* time skip to house's careplace*
We got in to the clinic and I found my boyfriend Seth organizing cause and bandages. "Hey Seth, can you give is a hand." he turns around casually then after he seen me and Alice carrying an unconscious, bloody Ace he rushed over.
"WHAT HAPPENED!?!"
"The shadows attacked us again. Now, can you help me get him to the bed." in the house we put up beds in a room and called it a "clinic" or "careplace" and when we are attacked we go here and here and get patched up or sometimes stitching. Seth started to carry Ace over to the bed with the help of Brianna. Halfway over Seth's arms gave out and we dropped Ace. "Oh no, I'm sorry." Seth said. Brianna screeched, "WHY DID YOU DROP HIM!?
"I didn't mean....."
"If you can't lift anything DON'T LIFT A PERSON! EVEN MORE THAN THAT, DON'T LIFT AN INJURED PERSON." That's when I had to stop the fight, "Look I forgot that he can't lift over ten pounds." Brianna was still in a rage. " THEN DON'T LET HIM LIFT ACE."
"Brianna, calm down. You don't want to wake up Ace."
"Fine but he isn't lifting any person else." we put Ace on the bed and soon enough Shadow came in and put Lizzy on the bed next to Ace.
Seth said, "well, for Ace we just need to remove the glass shards and cover the blood because it's not as deep. But for Elizabeth's leg, we are going to have to give her stitches. Luckly she is unconscious so if we numb her leg we can easily sew it up."Please comment
