chapter 6: taking care

I surprisingly got done with this chapter in time to post it before Friday. So hope you enjoy.

Elizabeth's POV
I woke up thinking that I was still in the car driving. I was surprised to see Shadow standing in the doorway. Just then I felt a sharp pain shoot through my leg as I tried to stand up. Shadow rushed over "Careful. Your hurt and need to rest." I started to panic, "how did I get hurt."
"You were asleep and the car went slightly off the side of the mountain."
"How slightly."
"Just enough to give you bruises and a slice by glass up your leg and to put a few scratches on Aces back. Oh and Mackenzie landed in a prickly bush."
"How's Brianna?"
"She was surprisingly not hurt as much as you and Ace. But the only reason was because Ace covered her."
"So how's Macke....." I was cut off by a boy talking to Shadow, "She needs her rest, so if you could leave."
"Fine" Shadow leaned down next to the bed and whispers "Take care, I'll visit you when Seth isn't on to my case."
I looked around to find a scrawny boy with white hair and green eyes organizing gauze and medication bottles. "So that must be Seth." I said under my breath. Trying to get to him, I start to get up but quickly realized where I was hurt. I looked down to see my leg with stitches in it. I tried to stay calm and asked the boy where I was. He calmly said, "Don't worry your in good hands here."
"Where is here."
"This is the clinic I set up to fix anything that is broken."
"Why?"
"Because I have a degree in medication and doctoring."
"Why don't you just go to the doctor."
"Reasons you'll learn later. Now go to bed you need to rest."
"First answer me this. How long was I out?"
"A few hours. There, now go to bed."
I wasn't tired but I did a he said anyway, aleast I would have if Brianna didn't go In here to check up on me. I probably would have just lied here being bored if she didn't.

Brianna's/Alice's POV
I was so worried about Ace and Lizzy. Mostly Lizzy, she isn't used to be attacked by shadows unlike Ace. I decided to go and check on them. I seen Lizzy was awake, yet Ace was still asleep. "Hey Lizzy."
"Hey."
"How are you."
"Hurt."
"Here, let me see how bad is it."
It still seemed bloody but other than that it was stitched up good.
"It seems ok now."
"Good? How is stitches good?"
"It was better than when you were bleeding out."
"I guess that is better."
We were soon interrupted by Seth. "If it would be okay with you to, she needs her rest."
I so wanted to say that it wasn't okay but I decided to just agree with him. "Fine, but once she rests I'm gonna talk to her. Bye Lizzy."

Ace POV
I woke up on one of the beds in the care center. "Hey you're awake." I looked around to find where Seth was to see he was organizing more medication bottles.
"How long was I out?"
"Longer than usual."
After he said that I heard Elizabeth starting to freak out. "LONGER THAN USUAL. HOW LONG IS USUAL?"
I tried to calm her down, "relax, I just get hurt a lot." it was technically true so I wasn't lying to her. "So, you're saying that blacking out is normal for you?"
"No. Getting hurt is. Blacking out is just an effect from getting hurt."
"Well that's a lot better."
I could hear she was being sarcastic. So not to start a fight, I decided to shut up about it. "Hey Seth when do you think I will be out of here?"
"Maybe, hmm, four days at most."
"Good. Can you move the curtain and tell Shadow to get in here?"
"Right on it."
"Oh and tell him to bring the thing."
I glanced over at Elizabeth so he would know the thing was Herrera's power necklace.
"Okay. I will get it."
"Good."
