"I can't!" Katy finally declared, her tone dark.

"I can't go into the Ferris wheel, Okay? I came here with Har─" She paused, "With the bastard on our last date before the incident." She shook her head.

Leonard Beards stood silently, as his eyes bore into her with enough intensity yet enough gentleness to melt a heart and trigger a woman's desires.

She sighed, "L-Look, I'm sorry, okay? I know you probably felt compassionate towards me; you're trying to cheer me up, and all the other blah blah blah stuff. But no. This place only depressed me more." She ran her hand through her hair.

I fidgeted, only to realize Mr. Ellington had his back laid against the trunk of the tree we were hiding behind. He wasn't looking at the couple, basically, it was not really possible. If he tried to poke his head out to look, we would be caught, and only one of us had enough space to peep and not be caught.

I figured he left the latter space for me, "Hey, uhm, if you want to look, we can switch places." I whispered, softly, and blushed as I realized how close we were stuck to each other.

From the tree some feet away, Sarah was winking and gesturing at me dirtily, which made me flush more!

Rickard Ellington Conway eyed me not, as he scrolled through his phone, his back still laid at the trunk. "I am not interested in watching the whole drama. It is enough to listen." He murmured, inaudibly.

I nodded, and shifted my attention back to my best friend and the vice-president.

"I thought," Mr. Leonard started, "That you said you wished to move forward, two months ago. Though you do not seem particularly affected by that somehow." His tone was calm, but for once, it was serious, and not as carefree as ever.

Katy let out a shaking breath, "Things are not as easy as you might imagine them, Leonard Beards."

Leonard Beards didn't flinch, he simply let out a throaty sigh, "I thought you were stronger than that, my dear."

"It has nothing to do with strength!" She bit her lip, "It just needs time!"

The vice-president's eyes thundered for a second, "Oh really, so you'll just wait for time to heal that heartbreaking wound of yours?" He muttered, darkly.

Katy huffed, "Wound?" She echoed, her voice croaking, "Let me tell you, Leonard Beards," She met his eyes, unflinching.

"Every single inch of my body aches..." She clenched her teeth, and her voice shook, "And it aches badly, because that shitty Harveston had touched it! Because I bloody well still feel him burning my body!"

He eyed her back, his expression not faltering, and his cool gaze slowly broiling.

Something flashed in his eyes. Something similar to a dark feeling of anger and refusal.

He grabbed a strand of Katy's hair, and twirled it around his index finger, "Oh, so if I... touch you now, will I erase all that? Is that all what it's about?"

My eyes widened at his words, and I watched Katy's eyes widened, and a wall of tears fog over them. Tears didn't come down, though.

Leonard Beards' next word grabbed my heart and squeezed it. Even Mr. Ellington stiffened for a millisecond.

"Physical?" He muttered, darkly.

A gasp escaped Katherine Martins, and her expression looked bewildered.
