Julia's POV
I woke up in the morning refreshed and excited for the day to begin. It was a very deep sleep. The sleep I've had in what seems a century. I went in the beautiful bathroom and found that there were clothes already laid out. I took a shower and then put on the clothes picked out for me. It was a dress, so simple yet gorgeous. It was a long dress that reached my ankles. It was a royal blue, so deep I felt I could sink in it.
After I put it on I went to look for Romara. It took me a while to find her. She was wearing pants made of black leather, along with a casual white shirt. She was wearing her old brown boots. She even had her sword and dagger with her. When I asked her how she got it back, she said and I quote, 'None of your business!'
"Oh. They laid clothes out for you too, huh?" , she asked.
"Yeah! Is that what they laid out for you?" , I said curiously. It was hard to picture the royal dressers to lie something like that for Romara. In fact for anybody!
"Of course not! I would never wear those clothes in a million years! I'd rather die a thousand deaths! Anyway, wanna go to the commons with me?"
"Sure. Why not?" , I replied.
Soon enough we were in town. We went into a pub. I don't know a lot about princesses, but I do know that they don't usually go into places like this. It wasn't worn down, just rowdy. Mostly men fighting and rough housing like children.
When we were in the pub the bartender asked us what we'd like. Then of course, he bowed to Romara even with the fact that she wasn't wearing her crown. Romara got us both some passion fruit juice. Hers had a hint of whiskey.
"Hey. Ladies, you might wanna take a look at this." , he said to us as he brought our drinks, showing us a flyer. Romara snatched it off of him.
The flyer read:
To all my royal subjects,
I humbly invite you into the castle for a Royal Ball. In honor of my beautiful daughter Romara, her royal highness coming home. The dance shall be held on December 24, Christmas Eve, two weeks from now. Everyone is to wear their dancing shoes, because your gonna need them!
Sincerely,
King James and Queen Leah
Romara's POV
I could feel the look of terror spread across my face. It felt as if my worst nightmare had come true. Why, just why? It seems as if life and the universe is enjoying this. I quickly rushed home leaving Julia.
"Wait! Where are you going?!" , I heard her shout after me.
When I was home in my room, I locked the doors to keep everyone out. I was enraged! Furious! How could Mom and Dad do something like this!? I know they were just happy to see me and wanted to celebrate, but still!
