Jason's pov
I sit down at my desk, my head in my hands. I hear light footsteps. I look up seeing my daughter, crying and gripping her arms so tight there's bloody scratches. "Baby girl relax your hands." I say, standing up. "I want them to come back. Why doesn't mama love me?" Tears come to my eyes. I run over and hug her tight. "Don't you say that honey. Mom loves you. She just..... Doesn't love me."
Miranda's pov
Rachel looks like she's trying not to cry. I sigh, feeling torn. I pat Rachel's hand. "Just try to get some sleep. We'll be home before you know it." I say. "I was home." She whispers as I drift off to sleep, waiting for the plane to take off.
*in her dream*
It was right after the twins were born. Right before I disappeared. I look at my unknowing husband. He smiles, holding Rachel. "I'm gonna fix everything now. I promise." He whispers, closing his eyes. But I never gave him the chance.
Jason's pov
*the next day*
It's pouring rain outside. I stare at the table top trying not to cry. I miss them so much already. Alice walks in the kitchen and starts making breakfast. "How ya holdin' up?" She asks. "I'm not." I whisper, closing my eyes.
*later that night*
Realization takes hold. I let her slip through my fingers once. I won't let that happen again. My mind flashes back to the day I lost them the first time. The note. Hitting my knees in tears. I snatch my keys and put my cowboy hat on and determinedly walk to the door. "Where are you going dad?" Sierra asks. I smile and turn around. "I'm going to England to get your mama and sister back." Her eyes go wide. "Really?" I nod and open the door. "Daddy!" Rachel cries. My eyes go wide. "R-Rachel!" I gape shocked. "Hey Jason." My eyes draw higher to the beautiful brunette who ran out on me ten years ago. "Wh-What about y-your plane?" I shakily ask confused. "I uh I made a mistake ten years ago. And well... Seeing you again awoke the feelings I buried a long time ago." "I missed you too." I say. She laughs. "That's the shorter version of what I was trying to say." I smile and nod, hugging her tight. "So will you stay?" She smiles and kisses me passionately. My eyes go wide shocked then gently flutter closed, my hands around her waist. "You won't be able to keep me away." "Yay!" Rachel gasps, hugging us both. Sierra does too. I smile and wrap an arm around my daughters. "Then I just have one more question." I fish the wedding ring out of my pocket. I drop to one knee. "Will you make us a family again by becoming my wife..... Again?" She laughs at the funny wording and nods. I slip the ring on her finger and stand back up, kissing her hard with the girls beside me. "And who said cowboys don't have happy endings." I whisper, tipping my hat lower on my head. She hugs me, her head resting against my chest. "And they lived happily ever after." She whispers, holding my hands and us sharing a very love filled passionate kiss.
