Mason stood exhilarated above her lifeless body. Blood dripping from the knife in his gloved hand. He closed his eyes and threw his head back chuckling. He felt invigorated and free. Adrenaline pumped through his veins as he tossed the knife aside and began the process of bagging the body. This one was light. She was stupid too, he thought. She had absent mindedly went with him anywhere he asked despite just meeting him a few day before. She was desperate for love and would do anything for it. So when Mason had asked her to go hiking with him in the heavily wooded forest behind his house, she easily obliged. Like all his victims, she had no family and only a friend or too, so it would be a few days before anyone even realizes she's gone. She hasn't told anyone about him either, which was always great.
Mason began digging a hole next to the others each exactly seven foot deep, with a different color rose bush planted above each grave. The last bush had just been planted. He hasn't planned on his latest kill, but he couldn't help himself. She was so easy. He had done almost no preparation for her, which was completely off from his usual routine.
Usually he spent weeks planning, watching, and preparing for their arrival. He would keep them and take pictures of them, just like they did to me, he thought. Mason was not always like this. When he was younger he was always a bit different, but he was never violent. Then one day he blacked out and woke up to someone flashing a camera at him. He could never see who it was. All he remembered was bolting out of the room. He was never really harmed, but it sparked a desire within him. Within a year, he had begun a habit of stalking, then assaulting. Men, he found, were often too equally matched, so he focused his violent tendencies to women. Even when he was spontaneous and careless he always had a knack for not getting caught. Authorities wouldn't even imagine him to be a suspect. This just fed his desire. He wanted more. He started killing. Eventually he made himself a routine and strategy. He had gotten quite good at it.
After finishing up he left towards the house to shower. Time to go buy a rose bush.
