The bell chimed, alarming Cali that a customer had just walked in. "Feel free to look around, I'll be out in a minute if you need anything!" She shouted from the back room. Mason, the customer who just walked in took note of her voice. It was beautiful, soft bold. After walking around for a few minutes, Mason saw the owner of the voice emerge from the back. His breath escaped him when he saw her. The voice defiantly belonged to her. She was petite, but her dainty stride was boldly confident. She had her long hair loosely up in a ponytail, and her face beamed with natural beauty. She gave him soft smirk and blush, when she saw him looking. "Can I help you?" And just like that the voice that had entranced him, brought Mason back to Earth. He blinked and shook his head letting out a chuckle. Composing himself he flashed a charming smile, "Yes, actually, I'm looking for a rose bush. Do you have any that are as stunning as you?" Cali raised her brow, and smiled, wondering how she should go about this. Her eyes focused on his sharp jawline covered in stumble. She bit her lip. She glance at his calloused hands and her eyes wandered up his arms and back to his very bright eyes. She admired there blueish grey hue. He was very attractive and obviously charming. He's stunning, she thought, but he's too aware of it. "Probably not," she said confidently, "but I'll help you try and find something maybe half as good." She smirked and began walking towards the roses, taking note to sway her hips more than usual. Mason clenched his jaw and grinned as she past. Maybe I'll be getting two rose bushes today, he thought with a grin. He swiveled around and strode towards her humbly. "These are all the rose bushes we have," she said professionally."Do any of them satisfy your tall order?" She said flirtatiously. Two can play this game, he thought with a sly smile. "Actually, I think they have exceeded, thank you." "Ouch," she sarcastically replied without hesitation, "in that case maybe you should buy a few." Without skipping a beat Mason replied, "Well meeting you has got me thinking the same thing." He said with a sweet gaze and humbled smile. Cali narrowed her eyes, and bit her lip. She hasn't expected that response. "And why's that?" She asked tilting her head. "Because then I have either an excuse to be here longer, or to come back." Mason smoothly replied. Cali chuckled and shook her head. Suddenly the for chimed and another customer came in. Cali turned back to Mason, "well while you make that decision, I'm going to go help this customer." She smiled and walked away rolling her eyes. Mason looked down with a smile and back at the roses. Suddenly he remembered why he came to get them. His smiled faded away when he realized he didn't want to get a rose bush for her. He wanted to get her roses. For the first time the fire sparked inside him wasn't a desire of violence but affection. Stunned he looked back up at her graceful figure helping the other customer. She was kind and gentle. She glimpsed up at him and smiled. He quickly turned away. Crap. He thought, what now?
A few minutes later Mason came to the counter where Cali was writing something down. He set the bush down along with a marigold plant. Cali looked up surprised to see the marigold on the counter with the rose bush. "This too?" She asked. "Um, actually I was wanting to sell this one to you." Mason said with a shy smile. Cali giggled, "that's not exactly how it works, see, I own the store. So its already mine." She smiled. "Well then, go ahead and put it on their with the rose bush." Cali laughed and rang it up. After paying Mason spoke. " So now that it's mine would you like to buy it?" Mason asked referring to the marigold. Curious as to where this was going Cali agreed. "Alright, how much?" "One authentic phone number," Mason replied with a smile." Cali smiled back, biting her lip, "I don't know seems kind of pricey.." She trailed her voice off. "What if I throw in dinner and a movie?" Mason said. Cali smiled broadly. "Alright, rose boy, you got a deal" Cali took out a sticky not and scribbled a number on it. "Mason." Cali looked up, "what?" "My name's Mason." He said again. "Cali smiled, my names Cali. Its nice to meet you." She held out her hand. "The pleasures all mine", Mason said shaking her hand. He turned and began to stride out the door. "Wait," Cali called suddenly. Mason turned alarmed. "You forgot this. It will be kinda hard to contact me without it don't you think?" She spoke with a sly smile. Oh I don't think I'll have a problem, he thought, I'm pretty good at following up on people. He had a sudden flash back of all the women he kept up with weeks before they met, but he simply smiled and replied with a laugh. "Ya, you're probably right."
