Amelia Jane was not lost.

She was exploring.

She did not know where she was exactly but she was not lost. It was pretty here. There were a lot of flowers and trees and sunlight. And there was the boy who was always around. He brought her fruit and sweets and pretty dresses that always seemed to fit perfectly.

The boy looked about a year or two older than her, sixteen or seventeen. He was at least a head taller than Amelia with dark hair and bright blue eyes. He was really handsome, Amelia thought.

Amelia may not have known where she was but she was happy. Happy to be away from the real world and in this paradise. She assumed she was dead, and she was sort of okay with that. Nothing was wrong anymore.

Amelia Jane could never get the boy to tell her who he was. He always ignored the question. She asked him once why he brought all of these gifts to her and he had said, "Because my dear, you are my special secret and you deserve to be happy while you are in the dark."

Amelia did not know what this meant. Amelia had also asked where she was. The boy looked at her and asked her, "Does it matter?"

Amelia reckoned it didn't. Why should it? She was fine. She was not in pain, she was not starving, and she was not sad. Why would it not be fine?

The only problem Amelia had was she could not remember how she got here, wherever here was. Maybe she would just ignore that for now.
