this story has been receiving a lot of attention recently, and a lot of questions have been asked- so lemme answer the most asked one. 

most of them have been like "Why does Dan kill Phil if he loves him??"  

and the idea is that Dan is not thinking, he's not himself. He's purged himself in anger and rage, he goes beyond rationality. He loves Phil so much, that when he sees Phil hurt himself he's blinded and simply can't allow it- he gets caught up in the moment and everything goes to fast, his own emotions and nature come into play, and we all know how that ends up.
