Anyway here is chappie 2, enjoy!
----Jade's POV----
I signed in and went to the dressing/warm up room, I fixed my hair and put on the rest of my costume. I went to the bar on the other side of the room and began my normal warm up and stretching routine; a few one-leg plea's, splitting both ways, a few practice pirouettes that were spectacular thanks to Ethan... No my mind needs to not think of him until this is over or there is no way I can face his mom. I took a few deep breaths to clear my head. "5,6,7,8" I counted out loud and began my dance. "Miss Drlynski" the runner(person who called the next auditionee) said startling me a little as I was so focused on my dance routine.
"Yes?"
"We're ready for you." She said with a smile and my heart just about stopped beating while my stomach did a couple flips.
"Alright," I whispered to myself "you can do this. Just remember not to rush and do it just like you've practiced." I know its a little insane talking to myself but hey who doesn't once in a while?
We walked from the warm up room to the stage. I peered out into the crowd and the first person I saw was the head judge, Mrs. Lautmon, Ethan's mother. She gave me a penatrating stare, throwing daggers at me with her eyes. It chilled me to the bone. In that instant I knew no matter how well I danced, no matter if I was the very best, she was going to do everything in her power to keep me from competing in the state championship. But I had to give it my best try after all this isn't just for any trophy or metal, I am doing this because it is what I love, other than theatre, and I had a running chance. Plus the fact that if you advanced to state you were ensured a $20,000 scholarship to any college of your choice was rewarded. And a additional $30,000 scholarship if you qualified as second or third or a full scholarship for 1st place in the state sure helped me push myself to absolute perfection with my dance.
I peered out at the other nine judges, while they were scribbling on their pages, hoping they would vote in my favor. And waited for them to give me the green light.
"Miss Drlynski," said judge # 6 "you have choreographed your own piece for us?"
"Yes ma'am" I replied shakily.
"Is there anything you would like to share with us about your piece before you begin?"
"Yes, I mean it is pretty self explanitory but it is a story of love and the sruggle to resist or give in. It shows a transformed girl whom in the beginning was to safe and cautious but slowly began to let go when she figured out there were still good people in this world that she could trust."
"Alright. Thank you, you may begin when ready, your music will start, when you are finished we will have a few questions for you and then you are free. The state championship dancer list will be posted in roughly 2 hours afterwards. Good luck."
"Thank you." I said and set up to do this thing.
----Ethan's POV----
Where did all of that come from? I asked myself racking my brain and trying to figure out why my little outburst had happened. Yes I loved Jade I've known that for a while but never thought to act on it for her sake, of course I didn't let any other guys have her either, she was mine first no way I was going to hand her over to someone else and then have to listen about it and smile. Yeah I guess you can see I'm kind of possesive of her.... but still one minute we are just talking and then she brings up my ridiculous, insane mother by saying "I miss these days where we could just be together all day and not worry about hiding from your mom or runing away before someone we know sees us together." And as she said it I relized how true it was and how tireing it was so of course my impulsive side took charge and it ended with a kiss. A kiss that I had been waiting for for quite some time but was nothing like I expected it to be. She just froze, she didn't kiss me back, she simply ran away leaving me standing there like an idiot. I know its in her nature to run away from her problems because that's what she has always done but it isn't at all what I had expected to happen. It hurt, it broke my heart a little, and it was the thing I was afraid of most...being rejected by her.
