A Kiss Before Lying

Skylar's POV

I called Clarissa after leaving the house. But it went straight to voice mail, so I left her one.

'Hey Clarissa.' I said into the phone, 'Where are you? I'm at the pizza place. Comr soon. Bye.'

There was a bench outside of the joint, so I sat there. A cold breeze started flowing through as the sun set over the horizon.

6.30pm

That's what the time on my phone read.

Where is she?

'Hello? Is this side of the bench taken?',someone asked.

I looked up and saw a guy around my age. With dark, Wavy hair that almost covered his eyes. And his hazel colored eyes sparkled when he spoke

'Uh-huh no. No its not' I stammered.

'Alright. I'm Ethan. Ethan Kahn by the way' he said putting his hand forward.

'Hi. I'm Skylar. Skylar Rivers.' I said giving him a firm handshake.

'So whatcha doing here alone Sky? He asked.

'I'm just waiting for my friend. She'll be here soon'

'Cool. My family and I just moved here a few days ago. And technically you're the first person I've talked to, here' he said with a chuckle.

Dimples formed on his cheeks as he laughed.

Damn this boy is cute

I giggled and instantly regretted it.

Why did you have to giggle like that Skylar. Take control of yourself.

'That's cool, so where did you move to?' I asked.

'Just a few blocks away from here.'

'Really? I lived a few blocks away too. I live on Sycamore Street' I said.

'What a coincidence. We just moved to the street next to that. Whitmore street' he said with sounding excited. ' So got any siblings or you a loner?'

'I've got a younger sister.'

'Awesome. I'm the only child.' he exclaimed.

We talked for a few minutes and he said he had to go back home.

Before he left, he got up and gave me a piece of paper.

'Call me sometime?' He asked.

'Yeah. Sure. If I'm not busy' I said sarcastically.

'I'm sure you will' he said and rolled away on his skateboard.

Just as he went, Clarissa arced carrying 2 huge bags by her side.

'Did you go shopping? Without me?!' I screamed just to annoy her.

'Yes I did. And here's your bag. I shopped for u too' she said smiling, handing over a bag.

We both walked in to the pizza joint not never expecting the disastrous thing that was gonna occur later that night.
