"Good morning January." Aaron stated. January woke, feeling awful she could not respond to him.
'Morning..' She thought, wishing she could speak.
She then felt his body upon the bed near her, his hand on hers once more.
"My machines are synthesyzing the nerves." He stated, sounding confident as he did. She didn't understand, the statement rushing over her head.
A low sigh came from him.
"Relax, it's alright." His thumb then massages her hand some.
Her eyes shut. She was awake, alert. She was just wishing there was a way for him to understand her other than her blinking.
Another kiss was placed on her cheek.
"I know it's hard." He stated, chuckling some.
"You feel helpless and alone, don't you? Please blink once for yes twice for no." She blinked once.
The perky nurse then came running in, putting a small device like pad on January's forehead & above her heart, giggling.
"There!" She exclaimed. "Now we'll know your thoughts & feelings sweetie." She giggled. "Try it! Just think of something!"
'Whatever you put on me feels like ice.' ran across the screen.
The nurse then gasped. "Oh dear! I forgot to turn the voice on!... Wait, do you want it?"
'As long as you two can read it, then no.' ran across the screen, replacing the other statement.
The male chuckled.
"It is cold, but at least you can communicate."
On the lower right hand corner of the screen, a little heart was shown, indicating she was feeling loved.
The nurse giggled, leaving.
As she felt another kiss on her cheek, a blushing emoticon replaced the heart.
Aaron then laughed.
"Sorry, I couldn't resist. Your beautiful."
'Thank you...' ran across the screen, the emoticon staying as she kept blushing.
"Your welcome. I'm assuming you felt alone?"
'Yeah... I miss my sister, and human interaction.' ran across the screen once more.
"Ah.." She could hear the sympathy in his voice. "Well, I'll be with you most of the time..."
'Thank you...' A few minutes later she noticed she was starving. The screen went black then white letters appeared. 'I'm hungry..'
"They can't feed you, so we put u on a nutrition drip."
'Doesn't feel like it...'
Aaron chuckled. "Okay, I'll increase the flow."
'Please do? & may you tell me about what you were telling the doctor? My hearing blurred, so all I heard was very little.'
"I'm going to replace your spine, legs, & eyes with cybergenetic ones." He stated softly in response.
'Oh...but that's expensive. I barely have enough to pass through college!'
"I will do it for free, the doctor is a good friend of mine, and I helped pull you out of the bus"
'But...I'll feel horrible if I don't pay you back somehow...' A guitly looking emoticon appeared on the screen.
"No no, it's alright! I like you. So think of it as a gift of affection." He chuckled.
'Please let me pay you back somehow...' ran across the screen.
He then laughed. "Fine, after your better, I want a date."
lA smiling emoticon appeared. 'Deal.'
