Jennifer's POV

I glance down at my ticket. Confusion bubbles inside of me as I realise that I'm not hallucinating it really does say platform nine and three-quarters. I glance at my Dad hoping that he could tell me what to do, seeing as he went to Hogwarts.

"Oh, you have to go through the brick barrier in between the stations nine and ten" he explains. I raise my eyebrow at him but he seems serious. He grabs onto my trolley and starts to run towards the brick barrier. I gulp back a scream worrying the muggles would hear me but the look of terror on my face as I was running by my Dad must have been noticeable. I squeeze my eyes shut hoping to at least save my eyes from the crash that would certainly come.

I open my eyes and a station bustling with wizards and witches appears before my eyes. A large sign tells me I'm in Platform nine and three-quarters. Grey billowing smoke fills my lungs as the adrenaline rushing through my blood finally calms .My Mum comes through and by the look of awe I can tell this was also her first time seeing the scarlet train.

"I should probably get on" I say to my parents " I'll see you in the holidays" giving them both a hug. I'm shivering with nerves, panicking slightly over starting a new school again. Sure I'm a fifth year but I used to go to Beauxbatons and I could already tell that Hogwarts was extremely different. I didn't like it at Beauxbatons and honestly, I did get a bit lonely as none of the girls liked me and the uptight environment was suffocating. Luckily I did get time to practice my pranking. Walking down the train I manage to find an empty carriage, well a carriage that was empty until two redhead boys came in.

They are tall and wearing tatty robes. They looked almost exactly the same but one of them stuck out. His eyes. I almost felt like I was drowning in them but too quickly I was snapped back into reality by the other boy saying

"Hey, mind if we sit here too?"

"Uh, sure" I reply. They sat down and straight away they introduced themselves.

"I'm George" the one who had just spoken chirps.

"And I'm Fred" the other boy laughs. Looking at them I could tell they are lying. Their smiles are too fake and they seem to be laughing in the inside. Pointing at the boy who called himself George I smirk and say

"So you're Fred and you're George" pointing at the opposite boy to who they said they were I say while grinning deviously at them.

"How?" questions the real George

"A girl never tells" I reply while smiling at him.

After that we started to chat about how I was transferring to Hogwarts and they tell me pretty much everything I need to know about the school. We exchange pranking stories and even start to plan a couple. I also meet their best friend, Lee and I now knew that I now didn't need to worry about friends at Hogwarts.

The train chills and I start to shiver as our breaths become visible in the carriage while the window become frosted in ice. A white haired boy with a ferret-like face scurries into our carriage and presses himself against the wall opposite the door.

"Malfoy" snarls George "what are you doing here?"

This Malfoy kid sneers at us but seems to scared to reply. A tall, cloaked figure floats down the corridor and the coldness in the air enhances but so does the coldness inside of me. I remember all the horrible things in life. Dad being strict and making me go to Beauxbatons, being all alone there, being teased by the snobs and not being allowed to go home. Images of these events flash through my brain and I feel myself losing hope in life, feeling as though all the happiness in the world in the world has been out. The tall figure leaves and I feel myself being pulled back to reality and happiness.

Fred slumps on his seat and looking beside me I noticed that George and I had squeezed together. I quickly move away as he looks awkward. Fred just winks at Lee. Malfoy has gone white and is clutching his left arm although he doesn't seem in the mood to chat as he leaves the room in a hurry, even forgetting to sneer at us.

"What was that?" I whisper.

"A dementor" George murmurs. "They guard the prison, Azkaban, that they worst wizarding criminals go. They suck out the happiness around them. You should have seen Dad after he went there once for his work. He came home white and shaking".

"They're after Sirius Black aren't they?" I say as I remember the article about him in 'The Daily Prophet". Fred nods and we all sit silently for a bit until we start talking about school and pranks again as a way of forgetting what happened. After changing into my school robes we start to get nearer to Hogwarts and I start to get nervous about being sorted.
