Shallow and Twilight sat down on the ground.
Shallow: You ready?
Twilight: Yeah.
Shallow: Ok then. So it all started, right before I lost my powers. I had sensed something evil, slowly growing in strength, but being in a rush, I didn't really pay any attention to it. I only had one thing on my mind at the time, but you and I both know what that was.
Twilight: Yeah.
Shallow: So, when I got my powers back, and did what I had to do with Chrysalis, I used my power of time to look into the future. I saw something, that I didn't want to see, and had to stop it from happening. That's why I'm training so hard, so that no matter what, I can protect everyone, especially you and the kids.
Twilight: Well if you knew about this for so long, then why didn't you tell me before. You can't always do everything on your own.
Shallow: I just feel like I have to.
Twilight: And I feel like you don't need me.
Shallow: I just might, but for right now, I need to continue training.
He got up, and flew up into the air, and Twilight went back to the castle, where she found Henry and Draco.
Twilight: Hey guys, where are my kids.
Draco: There with Fluttershy and Pinkiepie.
Twilight: Ok, and where are they?
Draco: They should be at the cottage.
Twilight: Thanks.
She flew off towards the cottage. Meanwhile, Shallow was punching a mountain.
Shallow: Ah! This is pointless! What's the point of doing all this training, if I can't even destroy a mountain.
?: Hey, I know how you can get stronger.
Shallow: Who's there?
He turned around, and thought that he was seeing things, but it was all too real.
Shallow: Chrysalis?
Chrysalis: Yes, and I'm sorry.
Shallow: Huh?
Chrysalis: I finally realized my mistake.
Shallow: Go on.
Chrysalis: All I ever wanted was power, but no matter what I did, I was still weak. I couldn't even defeat you, let alone take over Canterlot.
Shallow: So did you just come back to apologize?
Chrysalis: No, there's more.
Shallow: I'm listening, but don't get the wrong idea, I won't let you trick me like you did Shining Armor.
Chrysalis: I want to be your friend again.
Shallow: So, what, you thought that if you apologized, that your actions would go away. You tried to kill me!
Chrysalis: I know, and I want to make it up to you.
Shallow: I'm done with you Chrysalis, you hear me, done!
Chrysalis: Please Shallow, I want to change, I just don't know how.
He thought about for a second, and realized something. She was doing the same thing that he did to her, three years ago.
Shallow: Fine, I'll help you, but I swear to Celestia, if you try anything, I'll kill you.
Chrysalis: I understand.
