Chapter Five- Three times as Guilty
Violet and Jake stood in shocked silence. Neither of them could comprehend what they had just done. It was simple enough that they kissed but the big picture what complicated. It was something Violet couldn’t describe. When they she felt drawn to him. It was all wrong. Was she the princess locked away in her tower and he, her ‘Prince Charming’? Or was she the wicked witch with a love potion and a box waiting for his heart? Violet was pretty sure she was mixing up clichés from a few too many fairytales.
I have to stop doing that.

Jake sat down and put his head on his knees. He was so deep in thought he didn’t even notice the girl was heading for the door until he heard her turn the doorknob.
Where are we anyway?
“HEY!” Jake turned his head towards the door. “Where do you think you’re going?”
Violet froze in her tracks. She supposed she couldn’t exactly leave him there.
He wasn’t tied up anymore he could wander around the house and anyone might s-
“HELLO?!” Jake was waving his hands in the air above him. “Still with us?”
Violet felt herself blush. In a few strides the boy was across the room. He stood directly in front of her blocking the door.
“You. can’t. just.....leave?”
Something about his voice sounded afraid. Violet felt the only thing she could do was pretend it was no big deal.
“Why not?” she replied quietly looking at the ground like it was the most interesting thing in the room. Something made Jake annoyed. He wanted the girl to be looking at him like that.
Am i really jealous of the carpet?
Jake had to physically shake his head to focus.
He looked down the girl. She must have sensed his attention on her because her eyes flicked up at his immediately.
“It was just a kiss.” Violet whispered teetering dangerously close to bursting in to tears out of confusion.
Jake didn’t understand this girl. Or maybe she just didn’t understand him. Deciding it was the only way to prove it was more than a kiss, he lowered himself to her height, brought one of his hands to her fiercely blushing cheek and kissed her softly . It felt right.

It felt wrong!
Violet was very confused. The kiss brought butterflies to her stomach. She wanted so much for them to be able to kiss again but that just wasn’t an option.
“No.” she forced
“Nothing?” The boy looked a little pained.
“It was just an ordinary kiss. I feel.. exactly the s-same.” She lied. Violet fought back the blush as Jake contemplated her words.
“Fine then.” he finally picked the words Violet was waiting for. Mostly she just wanted him to agree and pretend it didn’t mean anything but somewhere deep down she wanted him to kiss her again.
“So where are we then?”
Violet gave him a confused look. She furrowed her brow and tilted her head to the side. And then she remembered where they were. Shite.
