Chapter Six - What could possibly go wrong?
“You WHAT?”
Violet didn’t appreciate his tone. It wasn’t like she wasn’t already ashamed of herself. Unabashedly, Jake screamed in her face.
“WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO NOW?!”
Alright, Alright. So she knocked him out with a baseball bat and somehow managed to drag him back to her house and tie him to a chair in the cellar... It wasn’t her proudest of moments but it’s not like it was unusual for a “Red” to take a “Green” hostage........ and then kiss them.........3 times........
The Point was- if Violet didn’t get him out of her gang’s estate without being seen... Then she really would be locked up in a tower.
“Ok. Ok! Alright i’m S-SORRY!” Violet faltered over the word ‘sorry’. “I’m..I’m gonna get us out of this!” She said with as much confidence as she could muster.
I hope.. she added in her head.
“Alright.”
Violet watched Jake’s eyes flicking from her to the door. He looked torn between running for his life and hearing her out.
“We’re in the cellar of the.. East.. wing. Erm.. If we.. run!... no... how about this? You... think.. of.......something...”

45 Minutes later Jake and Violet finally decided on a plan.
Violet walked calmly up the cellar stairs and emerged in to the East Hall.
Luckily, the manor was big enough for the entire ‘Red’ gang, which consisted of at least 25 people, to live in without bumping in to each other for days on end.
Almost identical in size to the “Green” manor, Violet’s house was complete with 38 bedrooms, 6 kitchens, 4 dining rooms, 8 living rooms and 13 bathrooms. Not too mention countless en-suites, cellars and studies.
Just one of the perks of being in a gang with living with many people who contributed money to the already extremely wealthy leader. It’s not like there were many perks. But this was by far the best.
Violet turned on her heel and casually locked the cellar door. If it wasn’t the most suspicious thing to do she would have stuffed her hands in her pockets and whistled innocently as she tip-toed down the hall.
After hastily checking no one had seen her, Violet practically threw herself in to her bedroom and slammed the door behind her.

She had been gone a while. Jake wondered if it was because her bedroom was very far away or because someone had caught her. He began to worry. The girl was clumsy and while good with a baseball bat, a little slow with her reflexes.
Jake didn’t even notice he was pacing. Finally he decided to go find her. For some reason he felt it was his responsibility to protect her from harm. He wasn’t sure why exactly but he would figure that bit out later.
Without to much more delay Jake rushed up the steps towards the door and was just about to open it and surface in to the light, he was blinded by a flash of light and something collided with his chest causing him to lose balance and fall backwards against the floor. Having the wind knocked out of him forced Jake’s eyes shut and when he opened them he couldn’t help but notice 2 things.
It was pitch black He was pinned to the ground by a beautiful girl with a mop of curly brown tresses and big brown eyes.
It would have been a dream come true if the girl hadn’t then stood up and held out what appeared to be a frilly red dress.
Oh well, at least it doesn’t have a-
*Violet turned the dress around thinking it would appeal to the boy more if he saw it from the front.*
-Bow. Dammit the thing has a bow.
“You don’t seriously expect me to wear that.. thing... do you?
Violet forced a smile.
“What’s wrong with it?”
She tried to look at the dress optimistically. It was a loose-fitting frilly thing with short puffy sleeves and a lacy white bow in the middle. She had to admit it was a truly hideous article of clothing... Which is why Violet relished the opportunity to do away with it.
Jake’s exasperated look forced an involuntary giggle from Violet’s lips.
“Just put it on will you!?” she chuckled.

Violet was certain she had never laughed so hard in her life. The sight of the boy in the ugliest dress she could find was absolutely hysterical. Jake shot her a severe look and his cheeks almost matched the colour of the ‘beast’ he was wearing over his jeans.
“Shut up and get on with it!” he hissed.
Seriously, Violet stood back and inspected Jake. The dress was more of a shirt when he wore it. After re-assuring herself it was the best they could do, Violet led him out in to the hall.
As silently as they could, the two frightened teens ran down the hall. When the back door was in sight they reduced to a jogging pace. Everything was going to plan..
At least it was before they saw a couple “Reds” heading in their direction. The two blonde women didn’t seem to have noticed anything unusual about Violet and Jake as they were still far enough away to be unrecognizable. To the older "Reds" the only visibility was 2 jogging people in Red. They wouldn’t have even be able to to see that one was a 17 year old boy in a dress.
Still, as a precaution, Violet pulled Jake into the first room on their right. It was the indoor pool at the end of the house. the room was huge and marble. The pool was glittering and scattered with fountains and rock features.
Just as Jake stopped in awe of the room he was dragged roughly to a cavity in the wall where there was 2 chairs and a table.
“Sit!” Violet mouthed.
She swore she could hear voices growing nearer. Timidly the girl edged close enough to the door that she could see through the gap on the side with the hinges. When she saw no-one was there Violet laughed at herself for being so dramatic. Standing up straight she opened the door all the way and stuck her head out. Looking up and down the hall she still couldn’t see anyone.
Happily, Violet turned on the spot to find Jake-
gone? uh-oh
“Jaaake?” Violet called out in a whisper. “Jake!”
“Who?”
Violet’s eyes grew so wide the threatened to permanently disfigure her face. Terrified, she wheeled around and spotted her older sister, Bronte, lounging casually on a sun bed. It looked pretty amusing seeing as they were indoors and there was no sun.
“Hmmm?” Violet feigned a casual voice whilst continuing to scan the the room for Jake. She really hope her sister hadn't heard her a few seconds ago....
“You said Jake!”
Busted.
