"We finally made it out of that damn forest" I sigh and look at the desert ahead of us. "This is something I can handle" I walk into the hot desert with the others, they take off layers to stay cool and I stay in my jacket.
"Are you cold?"lily asks.
"Not really"
"Then why keep it on?"
"...not sure " a straight up lie.
"Come on I've never seen underneath"she reaches and takes off my coat my body scared. She looks at my arms and traces the scars"so many"
"I had to escape the ones after but...I didn't get out scratch free"
***flashback***
I'm sitting in a cell"i didn't kill him...they will pay one day " I stand and grab the bars. My eyes turn a bright orange"burn"the bars melt and I step out"fucking idiots". I walk down a hall looking over my shoulder every so often. I sigh as I turn down a hall"I'll have the best luck with the trial of fire but I still might not survive"i walk up to a set of 4 doors. Each one has a word above it, I walk through the one that says fire ignoring the other ones.
I walk into a empty room the door shuts behind me and locks itself."great"i walk deeper into the room. I stop feeling a warm sensation graze my arm. I look down and see a scar "hmm?"I look back up and see a wall of arrows their tips blazing. "For fuck sake...I didn't expect this to be easy" I walk through the arrows the flames healing me immediately, some of them getting embedded into my skin burning away but making me bleed heavily. I make it to the end with a dark metal door "finally"i open the door and walk out with no hesitation and I plummet to a snow covered ground.
I stand, freezing, I make my way through the dunes of snow looking for any signs of life. I had lost my shirt during the fall and the blood was staining the ground where I had walked. I stopped in a field everything around me was white"even if there was life I couldn't find it here"i try to move my leg but the blood inside was frozen."fuck...I will not die out here, I will not let then have there way"i break the ice making me bleed more and continue to walk. I walk for hours till my legs gave out falling into the snow"fuck it"a white glow starts around me melting the snow, I fall through falling to earth losing my memories and sealing my powers.
***normal time***
"They don't hurt much anymore"we walk through the desert my jacket back on. "We should be there soon enough" the sand shifts around us as we walk and a small beetle crawls up my leg. It starts getting dark so we set up camp.
"So you plan on what? To finish killing the family?" Victor said.
"If that clears my name yes"
"Whatever just don't let my sister get hurt"
"I won't I'll guard her with my life"we all get up and go into tents victor and Konnor in one tent me and Lily in another.
I wake in the middle of the night and go out to the fire. I watch the flames for the rest of the night.
Lily emerges from the tent and sits next to me resting her head on my shoulder. "We should get going when the others get up" I said tiredness in my voice. I start to make breakfast from the food we got at the bar and wait for the others to get up. They come out, eat, and pack up with out a word. I look up at the sky filled with clouds"the frost".
