Shopping for a gift

" Jane, help. " You mumbled from your space on the couch, where you had been laying for a little over two hours now, looking through magazines, books, anything, trying to find a present for E.J. Jane looked from her magazine, the one you had forced her to look through since you needed as much help as you could get, and waited for you to carry on.

" We have a week and one day before our anniversary and I can't think of a single thing to buy him. Or make him. My mind is completely blank! " You were really exasperated at this point and so tired. Jane moved from the couch she was on to sit next to you. She put her arm out and you moved to her and slumped miserably against her.

" Come on (Y/n). Don't be like that. We just have to think harder. I'm sure we'll find something. " She tried reassuring you, but you just moved your arm slightly before flopping it back down. Jane sighed and thought for a moment. She suddenly perked up and moved you so she could look at you.

" Come on, let's go shopping. You haven't come out of the mansion for three days now. You need air. " She got up and you fell where she had been moments before.

" There's air in here. " You whined. She looked down at you in exasperation before grabbing your arm and pulling you off the couch. You glared at her before sighing dramatically.

" Fine. Let's go out, if that's what you really want. " She jumped up excitedly and left to get her stuff. You laughed at her excitement before leaving to get your own things ready.

" Meet at the front door in 5 minutes! " She shouted from the stairs and you nodded. You quickly got your things and made a checklist in your head. (Bag- check, Money- check, jumper- check... I feel like I'm forgetting something...) You stood by the front door, trying desperately to remember what you needed. Suddenly you heard someone running down the stairs and before you knew it, Jane was standing in front of you.

" Okay, let's go! " She opened the front door and walked out, you following close behind. You stopped at the little steps and Jane turned to look at you, waiting for you to explain why you stopped.

" I forgot my shoes. "

Shoes on, you and Jane quickly made your way out of the woods and decided to walk to town, much to your displeasure.

" Okay, come on, let's brainstorm. What does E.J like? " Jane asked. You tapped your chin in thought as you walked by her side.

" Kidneys, kidneys and more kidneys. That's it! Any idea where they sell some? " You asked, happy that you had thought of something. Jane looked at you for a long moment before shaking her head.

" You are NOT getting him kidneys. That is SO unromantic. " She stated, disgusted that you would even think of that. You looked at her suspiciously.

" What do you know about romance? " You asked, clearly not thinking she would know anything, she is a killer after all.

" Enough to know that kidneys are not romantic. Literally everyone knows that. " You both walked in silence after that, both trying to think of things E.J likes. (I've nearly been with him a month and been friends with him long before that, and I have no idea what he likes. Apart from kidneys. But SOMEONE [glares at Jane] didn't like that idea.)

" Don't you dare glare at me, I'm helping you. " Jane spoke sharply, clearly still appalled that you would even think of buying kidneys.

" What? Woman, you're seeing things. I didn't glare at anybody. Nu uh. Nope. Not me. " You rambled on, causing her to sigh and shake her head.

" You're absolutely hopeless (Y/n). " She stated, but you could hear the smile in her voice. You bit your lip and smiled, turning back to face in front of you. Your eyes widened and you jumped.

" Jane, look! We've finally made it! After days of walking through tough grounds, we're finally here! " You squeezed her arms and bounced up and down. Jane looked at you and shook her head again.

" (Y/n), we've been walking 45 minutes. Not days. " She started walking again and you followed.

" Excuse me? That's practically the same thing. " You pointed out. Jane laughed before making her way to the front of a store and walking in. You accelerated your pace and soon joined her inside the store. You looked around before spotting a shelf by you. You made your way towards it and picked up one of the items it was displaying.

" Do you think he likes crayons? " You asked. (Maybe he likes drawing. Hey, he can draw me, am I right or am I right? Paint me like one of your French girls ;) )

" Put. That. Down. " Was Jane's answer. (Okay, so much for that idea.) You obediently put the crayons down as Jane picked something up.

" Are you going to buy a card or make one? " Jane questioned, inspecting an anniversary card.

" Have you seen my crafting skills? " You walked over to her and crossed your arms.

" You're right. Which one do you want to get? " You could hear her smirking under her mask.

" Hey! " You hit her on the arm. " I meant I was going to make one, jerk. " You crossed your arms and frowned deeply. Jane laughed at your expression and made her way to the teddy bear section. You followed her close behind. She picked up a blue bear with a blue bow tie and turned to face you, holding the bear in front of her, making him speak.

" How about a special bear for your special man? " She made the bear ask.

" That's creepy, stop that. " You stated, eyeing the bear suspiciously. Jane laughed and turned the bear to face her.

" He's cute though! " She protested, showing it to you again. You pushed the bear away.

" Not when he's talking. " You informed her.

" Pfft, well then. I'll buy him for myself. " She checked the price tag and nodded.

" Be my guest. "

" Jane, we've been shopping for years and nothing is good enough! Damn, I am so done! " You shouted, flinging your arms upwards, earning a couple of weird glanced from shoppers around you. Jane sighed in annoyance.

" (Y/n), we've been here one hour. You need to calm the hell down before you annoy me so much I kill you. " Jane whispered venomously. You took a step back and lowered your arms.

" Okay, sorry, won't happen again. "
