Anniversary

2:02. Well, that doesn't really count as late. You put your phone back in your pocket before opening the door to the roof. You slid out into the cool air before closing the door behind you. Before you was a blanket laid out on the floor, with a bunch of your favourite foods laid out on it. And a jar with kidneys. Eh, whatever, nobody's perfect. E.J was kneeling down on the edge, lighting the candles in the middle when he noticed you.

"(Y/n)." You could hear the happiness in his voice at seeing you, which made butterflies flutter in you. You moved forwards, clutching the plate of cupcakes and the tea-towel you had placed on top to hide them, and sat next to him on the blanket, setting the plate on the other side of you. You looked around. The same beautiful sights you had seen the first time. The coloured leaves, slowly turning more grey, the beautiful lake, the blue sky, everything was perfect. You turned to E.J and smiled.

"This is beautiful. Thank you." E.J chuckled, lacing his arm around your waist and pulling you close to him.

"You're beautiful." He answered, looking at intently into your eyes. You blushed and giggled, looking away. "So, shall we eat?" He asked, leaning his head to one side.

"Yes, please, I'm starving." He laughed at your enthusiasm before motioning for you to help yourself. The two of you spoke of anything that came to your mind whilst (seductively) stuffing your face full of food, and kidneys on his part.

"You know, I've never actually said thank you to Jane." E.J commented, looking at the sky. You raised an eyebrow and made a questioning noise. "Well, it is thanks to her that we're together, isn't it?" You laughed.

"Don't worry. I've thanked her enough for the both of us." E.J chuckled at your answer before looking at you intently again, stopping your laughter.

"But really, (Y/n). I don't think I've ever been more thankful to a person before. Thanks to her, I have you. I've never been happier." He reached over and held your hands in his. You smiled up at him, the blush on your cheeks now seemingly a permanent part of you.

"Every time I think I can't love you more, you say something like that." You giggled. "But I'm really happy too. This past month has probably been the best month of my life. Being with you like this has made me so happy, I can't even explain." You leaned over and moved his mask out of the way, pecking him on the lips. His smile was the brightest you'd ever seen.

"I'm so in love with you, (Y/n)." He hugged you close to his chest. You smiled over his shoulder, closing your eyes in your happiness.

"I'm so in love with you too, E.J." He squeezed tighter and you returned the favour. The two of you stayed like that for a few minutes, just enjoying each other's embrace. After a few minutes, you pulled away. "Hey, want to see my gift now?" You asked, your hands moving to hold his. E.J smiled and nodded excitedly.

"Definitely." He cocked his head to the left. "Although I might already know what it is." He grinned at you. You shook your head violently.

"Nope, you do not!" You let go of his hands and turned to take the plate before turning to face him again, the plate in your hands. "Okay, take the towel off!" You shouted excitedly. E.J chuckled before reaching to the plate and removing the towel. And his jaw dropped. Hell yes. Wait, that is a good reaction, right? Suddenly nervous, you waited for him to say something. He looked from the cupcakes to you, back to the cupcakes, and then to you again.

"(Y/n), you made these?!" He sounded really amazed, but you didn't know if that was actually what he felt. Still, you answered with excitement.

"Yeah! Well, with Jane." You smiled at him, waiting again.

"These are amazing!" He put the cupcakes down and engulfed you in a hug. The cupcakes were dark blue, with dark blue icing, with a fondant kidney on each, in a red icing blood pool. You smiled brightly.

"You mean it?!" You asked, pulling back to look at him. He nodded excitedly.

"This is the best thing I've ever received! I'm so happy!" He was bouncing up and down on the blanket, causing you to laugh.

"I'm so happy you like them!" The two of you bounced together I excitement for a bit before stopping. "Eat one!" You told him, pointing at a cupcake.

"You've taken pictures of them, right?" He asked, picking one up. You nodded, watching as he bot into the cupcake.

"These are great!" He smiled through a mouth full of cupcake. You nodded, bouncing again.

"Good!" You then grabbed another cupcake and proceeded to eat it with him. After eating all the cupcakes together, somehow, you handed him the card you made. He read the front and then the inside before laughing out loud.

"Wow, that is love." He chuckled, looking over at you. You nodded.

"Yes, I love you." Your answer caused him to laugh, which made you laugh. He turned around.

"Here, this is for you!" He handed you a blue box with a blue ribbon over it. You smiled and took the present, opening it quickly. You took out a beautiful silver necklace, with a heart locket. Inside the locket was the picture BEN had taken of your kiss on this very roof. You felt the butterflies return and looked up at a very nervous E.J.

"It's beautiful, I love it. Thank you so much!" You jumped onto him to hug him tightly before turning so he could put the necklace on you.

"I'm glad you like it." He smiled down at you before kissing you softly.

"Thank you for planning this." You smiled at him.

"Thank you for loving me." You rolled your eyes at his answer.

"I'll always love you." You answered, reaching up to stroke his cheek. "Happy 1 month anniversary." He reached up and held your hand against his cheek.

"Happy 1 month." He stroked your hand, looking at you lovingly.

"I want to spend the rest of my life with you." You blurted out. He chuckled quietly.

"Count me in."
