Jade was awaken by the sun glaring through the window. She was on a roll; three tours in the last year! Her career was soaring, but her health was suffering; she was physically and mentally fatigued.This stop in Denver was exactly what she needed; relaxation, publicity for her next tour, and more importantly time away from him! Jason Matthews, Her controlling, over-bearing ex-husband. Just the thought of Jason caused an unpleasant grimace to fall on Jade's face. She shook the thoughts away and raced to the shower before her day could be completely ruined. She couldn't help the sigh of relief that escaped her lips as the hot water from the shower hit her bare flesh. "If only he would disappear as easily as the thoughts do", she said to herself as the tenseness she felt earlier began to ease. Sadly, Jason was a problem that was not going away any time soon.
Jade was a beautiful, award-winning recording artist. She was every bit of 5"5 with long shapely legs, and light brown, wavy hair that stopped in the middle of her back. She had hazel eyes that beautifully off-set her ebony skin. She had obtained two grammy's in the last year, and she owed it all to her manager, and obnoxious ex-husband, Jason Matthews. Jason put her through hell in their relationship, but he never slacked when it came to business. He was the reason for her success, and he never lets her forget it.
Jade picked up the phone and called the two people she knew she could depend on. "Hey Lilly Bug", answered the first voice. There was no doubt that the voice belonged to her sister-n-law/bestfriend Savannah. Savannah Paige Matthews an amazing dancer and even better friend. "Hello", the voice said again, snapping Jade out of her mini-trance. "Hey Savannah !", she said with lots of enthusiasm. "Excuse me, it is Savannah Pai..", she was cut-off by Autumn, Jade's sister and the third member of their best friend trinity. "Hello, I am here you know", Autumn said in a teasing tone. "Sorry sis", said Jade apologetically. "Yea, we're sorry", said Savanah sarcastically. Autumn lightly replied "sure you are Savannah." "It's Savannah Paige ladies, now what's going on?" "Absolutely nothing over here", stated Autumn, "What about you Liliana Jade?" There was silence on the line. "Lilly", Savannah asked sounding worried. The phone suddenly made an obnoxious beeping noise that irritated both Savannah and Autumn. "Sorry guys, that was Jason bugging me about wasting time and money, ugh!" They all sighed and groaned at once, and then laughed! "I thought you were vacating, why is he pestering you", asked Autumn. "Now ladies, we all know my brother has no life outside of Liliana Jade and Jade Records!" They all laughed in unison once again.
"There's never a dull moment between us, I miss you guys so much, It's lonely here", said Jade sounding slightly upset. "Awhh," said Savannah, "Well, I'm taking a break from dance I could fly out if you'd like." "Yea, I need a break from life as well," said Autumn. Jade couldn't help the cloud of excitement that consumed her, as she thought of being reunited with her only friends.
