First Time Mom? (COMPLETE)

A month has passed and everything is going well in the Carter household. Ava is still going to head-start and she occasionally sees Mackenzie. But for the past two weeks, Mackenzie didn't show up for class. It worried Ava. So one Saturday morning, Ava walked downstairs to look for her mom.

"Mommy," she called out, still half asleep.

She didn't get a answer. She searched the dining room, living room, den, and bathroom. But still no sign of her mom. But as she walked down the hallway, she heard singing coming from a room. Ava put her ear against the door and heard her mom. Ava opened the door and watched as her mom was singing in the studio. Her dad was also in there with her; helping her with something. She walked in and tapped Shawn.

"Daddy," she said, trying to get his attention. He looked down at her and smiled a bit, sitting her in his lap.

"Good morning honey. How are you," he asked her.

Ava shrugged and looked at her mom, "What is mommy doing?"

Shawn looked up at his wife and smiled, watching her do what she loved, "She is singing some songs for her album."

She just nodded and waited until her mom took a break. As she was doing so, Ava walked up to her and tapped her.

"Mommy..."

Beyonce took off her headphones and smiled, hugging her daughter.

"Hi pumpkin, what's going on?"

Ava stared at her, "Why hasn't Mackenzie been coming to head-start?"

Shawn frowned and walked towards them, "She hasn't been coming to class?"

Ava shook her head no, which worried Shawn and Beyonce. Shawn stepped out of the room and dialed the number for Mackenzie's dad, Tim. The phone rang for awhile but he finally picked it up after a few minutes.

"Hey Shawn. Ummm this isn't a good time.."

Shawn noticed the distress and worry in Tim's voice. Something is definitely going on, he thought.

"Hey man. What's going on," he asked him.

"Mackenzie doesn't have much longer... We are at the hospital right now.."

His heart dropped and tears filled his eyes. How was he going to tell Ava that her best friend is about to die. Shawn turned to Beyonce and motioned for her to come here. Beyonce sat Ava down in front of the computer.

"Stay here honey... mommy will be right back."

Ava frowned, "Why mommy?"

She sighed a little, "Mommy and daddy have business to take care of, okay? But I will be right back..."

Ava smiled and nodded, turning to play on the computer. Quietly walking outside and closing the door, Beyonce walked up to her husband and saw that he was on the verge of tears.

"Shawn, you're scaring me. What's going on," she asked.

Taking a few shaky breaths he looked up at his wife, "I am on the phone with Tim right now and... Mackenzie isn't doing good at all.."

Beyonce covered her mouth and blinked a few times. Is this really happening right now... she couldn't believe it.

"Tim what's going on," she asked him, the phone being on speaker.

"Hey Beyonce. Umm Mackenzie took a turn for the worse earlier today and she doesn't have much longer. We would like it if you two can come and see her."
