My mother returned that morning to tell me she had intensional business to attend to. I was so sure she did, I smiled and told her to have a safe flight.

Around noon, Adelias crept in. I didn't need to apologize to him.

"Look, I haven't been a very good brother. I treated you like dirt. But it's for your own good. You've always been sensitive." Here it was again.

"When you feel up to it, your homework is in my room. I'm moving back home today. Senior year." He stated flatly.

"Alright. Good luck." Soon, it was just me. Me and my lonely thoughts. I couldn't even twist to a daydream or thinking side. I was stuck in between.

Child psychologists and other doctors came around. They offered support and read books to me. Several nurses came to express their sadness. My volunteer crew kids came by. They all yelled at each other and gave me a card. At least something was going alright.

At 4:00, I stared at the door. Aaron would come and we'd talk all night. The door flew open.

"Hey Ror. Want some water?" I nodded yes, excited he was here. He helped me drink some.

"Thank you Aaron. You're the only one that actually let me talk to you and was normal about this situation. It's really nice."

"All in a day's work. I missed you at school today. Everyone is asking Kylie about you but she isn't really giving them good answers." I tried to sit up to see him, but he gently pushed me down. I pouted.

"What's she saying?"

"That it's your own fault and we aren't going to have any events for you."

"Uh wow. That's stupid." I was shocked. I didn't know she was this insanely jealous.

"Anyway. I gave Adelias your work. He's going to do some of it for you. Did you make up?"

"He came in to say sorry but it turned into him insulting me. I didn't get a word in."

"Sorry. Your mom?"

"She flew away....." Suddenly, something dawned on me. "You're missing work!"

"A guy from Debate is covering my shift. He's going to come over here at 5 and then I'll go to work at 5:15." I frowned, not wanting him to go. "In fact, most of the school misses you."

"That's really nice of them." It would be selfish to ask him to stay. "I miss you." I blurted.

"I'm worried about you." Aaron replied. "You have 401 tubes and casts on. I can't." He leaned into my ear. "Date." His breath tickled my earlobe. "A. Girl. Who. Can't. Go. Anywhere." He kissed my temple. My cheeks were flaring red.

"Did you just break up with me or?" I was so confused. My mind was in 409 places.

"No. I asked you on a 2nd date."

"Why would I say yes?"

"Because you obviously miss me."

"Oh alright. When and where?"

"You aren't leaving here for another two weeks Aurora." Reality was a monster.

"Damn. We can always eat crappy hospital food." I smiled at him. Aaron was taking over my life.

"I still use a nightlight."

"Me too. It changes colors." I giggled.

"My room is almost the same blue-grey as yours. It's a little darker." He said. His mind was somewhere else.

"I want to get colored casts as soon as possible."

"Speaking of that," he lifted his bag from the floor and grabbed a pack of sharpies. "I'm going to color and so is the art club. I'll go check if they are here."

Less than two minutes later, 10 students flooded my room. I gushed with joy and spoke to them happily. I knew them all, but we weren't close friends.

"So guys." Aaron spoke as a leader. "Do whatever you want as long as its appropriate. Sharpies are here. Thank you guys."

"Thanks Aaron and (I listed their names.) This is really nice."

"Everyone wants to come see you Aurora. You brightened up the school." I grinned at Tim's lovely comment.

I watched as girls and boys wrists dotted around my casts and created different scenes. A girl was drawing above my eyesight, so I couldn't see. They were all laughing and smiling. It was such an off sight in a hospital ICU.

Adelias came in at some point and signed my index finger on my left hand. Aaron mimicked him on the other hand in purple, rather than black.

Soon, Aaron had disappeared. The art kids had to rush to an exhibition in the center of town. Adelias sat in the chair.

"Look. I'm just stressed out. I don't mean to yell." He started.

"That's okay. But I kind of want to be alone before I try to kill you." I joked. I bottle everything inside and then explode. I explode like nothing else. I scream at everyone in my warpath and everything must die. I had a habit of hitting my legs really hard. It was a good thing I don't bruise easily. However, I redden very easily.

"Alright." He clapped his knee and left.

I was a horrible girl with beautiful casts and pretty eyes. Nothing more or less.
