Hello all! Okay so I will be updating today, I think. I truly have to study for some tests tomorrow, but I will definitely try to squeeze in some writing time tonight!
I would like to discuss a serious topic right now, so here we go-
This book is not about Erik and Christine. I know that a lot of people don't like Raoul, but this is what this story is about. The first time I watched phantom of the opera, my mom explained what was going on with Raoul at the beginning. After I watched the entire musical, I couldn't get the image out of my head: I kept imagining what it would have been like for Raoul. I could see what it had done to Erik and Christine clearly, but Raoul still remained without any sort of explanation. What would it be like to be married to a tortured soul? What would that have been like?
I am not making Erik out to be a bad person, but this will be book based. Erik did do some damage to Christine. She was constantly paranoid that he was watching her. This book is not about Raoul and Christine loving each other. This book is about the road to recovery for both Christine and Raoul, and how it would have been for Raoul to have to take care of this clearly damaged girl. This book won't have a happy ending. That isn't what this is about. If anything, it's sort of an essay, in some way.
This is a very opinionated book, and I understand if people don't like it. I'm prepared for that. I've been prepared. I have gotten to a point on wattpad where I feel comfortable expressing my opinion. I write for me. If I didn't write for myself, this book would not exist. So please keep that in mind while you read this. It's not about Erik and Christine, it's not about Raoul and Christine. It's the story of a boy who is willing to do anything to help a girl get better.
