When I woke up, I could sense that the light behind my eyelids was harsh and white. I cautiously opened one eye, then the other, slowly taking in my surroundings. What the hell? I was laying on a bed, as far as I could tell, and a rather uncomfortable one at that. It felt like cool metal, perhaps more of a table than a bed. Looking up, all I could see was a painfully white ceiling, with bright white lights lining the entire thing. The walls were white too. In fact, everything in this room was pristinely white and clean, with one metal desk in the corner holding a stylish laptop and a few metal tools I couldn't make out from this far away.

Where am I? I wondered. Then in a flash it all came flooding back, the field trip, my grand idea to sneak out... Seriously what was I thinking? And the trap. I'd thought at first that it might be a hunters trap, but it was too perfect. Stone walls, deeper than even a bear trap. And that gas that knocked us out... Where did it come from? I didn't see any signs of sprayers or even openings of any kind. But somehow, we got here. There were no signs of openings in this room either, but I couldn't be fooled so easily now. There had to be some door, or else we couldn't have been brought here so quickly. Although depending on what was used to knock us out, we could have been under for a couple hours. Maybe even a day, worst case scenario. I'm over-thinking this. Right now, I need to get us out of here. Us. Sera, where was she?

I sat up quickly, too quickly. I was hit with a wave of nausea, and stars danced behind my eyelids for a bit until I could open them again. The moment I could think straight, I looked around frantically for Sera. She had to be here too. Then I spotted her, and immediately wished she weren't here with me. She was in danger.

She was laying on a metal table like mine, two or three feet off the floor. She was only a few feet away from where I sat, I could walk across the room to her, but I was scared to touch my feet to the white floor. I watched her sleep, seemingly peacefully, with the hint of a smile on her face. She looked so beautiful, I didn't want her to wake up and have worry and stress plague her features. But then I saw it - the syringe pumping blue liquid into her arm, attached to the machine on the far wall behind our tables. I gasped and nearly leapt up to help her, but quickly realized that since I had no clue what it was, it may be unsafe to take it out. Maybe it was keeping her alive. But what if it was slowly killing her?

After a few minutes of inward debate I decided it didn't look natural and I needed to take it out if her arm. I got up carefully, bare feet hitting the cold tile. I only then realized we both had hospital clothes on, shirt and pants, and someone, or something, had taken our clothes and shoes. Ignoring this new discovery I walked towards her. Ouch! I felt something pulling at my arm, and looking down I found that I had an identical syringe, stuck in my arm below my right shoulder. I yanked it out and threw it on the table, disgusted, then did the same to Sera's. Her eyes fluttered open, and were instantly filled with panic. I put a finger to her lips, not knowing if we could be heard. Maybe it didn't matter, maybe whoever it was could watch us. Either way, I helped her sit up and tried to communicate through my eyes and hand gestures. It's proved to be quite difficult, and I also realized my right arm was very sore. By the looks of it, hers was too. She looked up at me and her eyes watered. No, don't cry! I thought. Regardless, tears started streaming down her face. I sat down next to her and, pulling her to my side, let her cry on my shoulder.

Author's note!

Sorry that these chapters are so much shorter than my usual stories, but it feels right for this one, I'm not sure why. Any thoughts on what that syringe was? Anyways, you know the drill. Comment your thoughts, vote if you enjoyed it, and remember I love you guys! I want to know what you think and I'm open to suggestions!
