May dodged most of the bullets but one got her left shoulder and one got her right leg just above her knee. She slumped against the wall looking dead. The two men left laughing. Once she was sure they were gone she looked up.

"That was close." May sighed. She sat there applying pressure to her shoulder so she didn't die from blood loss. She sat there for what seemed like a couple hours before Giotto and his famiglia came.

"May you alright?!" Giotto asked rushing over to her.

"Those morons think I'm dead." May smirked. Giotto sighed and applied pressure to May's knee. She winced and Giotto mouthed a sorry.

"Let's get her to the mansion." Giotto said to the others. They nodded as G helped Giotto stand May up. Once they got May standing with some assistance they quickly made their way back to the mansion. Once in side the mansion Knuckles had May brought into the infirmary. When Knuckles stepped into the room May was fading quickly out of consciousnesses. Knuckles quickly proceeded to heal May so they didn't lose her. Giotto, Deamon, Elana, and Alaude went to May's bakery to close it up while Elana got clothes for May. When they returned Knuckles had finished healing May.

"How's May?" Giotto asked as soon as he saw the raven haired priest.

"She is resting." Knuckles said to his boss and friend. Giotto nodded hesitatingly as Knuckles walked away from him.

"Giotto why are you just sitting here!?" G snapped storming into Giotto's office. Giotto didn't look up at his raging friend. He understood where all this anger from G was coming from, G saw May as a sister since they had met when they where kids. In truth everyone saw May as a sister.

"Did you even mean what you wrote. Do you even love her like you said you did?!" G yelled moving closer to Giotto's desk.

"Of course I do!" Giotto yelled angry that G would assume that.

"Then why arn't you doing anything! You know what I don't care, to be honest I don't think you deserve this!" G snapped throwing the strawberry cake in Giotto's face and slapping the letter on his desk before storming out of the office. Giotto stood there for a while after G left. When the cake fell onto the desk was when Giotto finally noticed the letter. After he got the rest of the cake off his face and suit he read the beautiful handwriting.

'Dear Giotto,

My dearest, I'm happy to return your feelings with my own. I love you Giotto. I truly love you with all my heart. I was so happy when you freed me from the assassin world. And for me to be your special person really means a lot. Though you may think you're dragging me back into the underworld no one can truly leave, plus I love you too much to care if I am still there, as long as I'm with you it will make it all worth it. I love you.

May'

Once Giotto read the letter he was angry at himself and the ones who did this to May. He stood up quickly walking out of his office and to the infirmary where he met G, who was coming out.

"G gather everyone we are going to make them pay." Giotto said. G smiled and nodded before going to find the others. Giotto walked in to see May asleep. Her shoulder length blond hair was in her face and messy, calm even breaths of sleep mover her still beautiful form, silver eyes the ones Giotto loves where hidden from view. Giotto walked over to her and took her hand. He moved her bangs out of her face with his other hand. The scar he had seen so many times stood out on her face, and it pains him not knowing the cause of it.

"May who ever did this to you will pay I'll make sure of it." Giotto said softly before kissing her forehead and letting go of her hand. He left the room to the sight of his guardians and friends.

"Alaude you find anything?" Giotto asked.

"Hn, the ones who did that to her where the Russo's." Alaude said glaring as he said the name. Giotto nodded and turned to a butler that just came up to them.

"I leave the mansion and May to you and the others make sure nothing happens to her." Giotto said. The butler nodded at the seven men as they walked off. Giotto, G, Asari, Lampo, Knuckles, Deamon, and Alaude walked up to the Russo mansion but where stopped by men with guns. The Russo men opened fire on the Vongola's after feeling the killing intent coming from Giotto, Alaude, G, Deamon and Lampo in waves. The smoke cleared revealing a green dome covered in green lightning.

"Who are you guys!" One of the men yelled.

"Your worst nightmares, Alaude." Giotto said letting the cloud go. An hour later three men where standing in front of a pissed off Giotto.

"You two where the ones who shot May, and you where the one who ordered the attack." Giotto said sickeningly sweet making his friends shiver.

"Oh so the cake lady is dead." One of the two men who shot May sneered.

"These bastards think she's dead." G growled before shooting them both in the head killing them.

"Hit a sore spot?" The boss sneered. Giotto had enough of this mans merda so he froze the man but not before spatting a threat. 'Ever harm or touch anyone I love and your famiglia will cease to exist.' was the last thing that man heard before being encased in ice that will never melt. The Vongola's headed back to their mansion where Giotto went to May's side and no one questioned it. Morning came and Giotto had fallen asleep in a chair on May's right. Silver eyes opened but closed quickly due to bright light. Again silver eyes opened but this time slower before looking around. May spotted Giotto asleep in a chair.
