Alyssa's pov

I finished packing my last bag for the tour, and am now ready to leave. I've somehow convinced the tour managers to go down from a whole year to only three months which was good. my father is currently working to get his job back but doing assistance and working as a barista as a side job for now. My mom is doing at-home tutoring classes to get some extra money. My siblings are still away at college and have no idea about this money-crisis. I first told my parents about the tour offer the morning after I got it and they were all for it. Although I wanted to save as much money as possible for the baby, there was still this small, nagging voice at the back of my brain, hoping they wouldn't agree. They told me money wasn't my issue to deal with but I felt bad and really wanted to help.

I'm now stuck in a cab with rice excitedly smiling at me. I already said my goodbyes to my parents in the morning because my mom had to attend a session and my dad had to go to work, obviously as a barista, you have to leave early in the morning.

"You excited?" He mocked. He got this offer a long time ago and declined rather harshly, so they don't 'bother him again' as he always says. So for that reason he sadly isn't coming with me.

"Ugh I just wish you can come with" I grumbled and rolled my eyes. He's my best friend. We do absolutely everything together. And now I have to travel to places I've never been to before with a bunch of hateful strangers, why does fate have to be so cruel. The least I could get is have rice by my side.

"Sorry, I got a lot of videos to film. I'll visit?" He smiled. Although it's was an empty offer I still smiled back. "I would probably be the only guy in the audience though" he joked and I laughed.

"You would probably be the only non-minor in the audience as well" I smiled widely. I'm gonna miss having these conversations with him.

"Oh god. You're making it so hard for me not to be there" he said sarcastically. I hit his chest lightly.

"Don't be gross" I mumbled. "No one wants a similar carter Reynolds situation in the near future."

"I'm irresistible-" he was cut off by the cab driver informing us that we've arrived.

"Alright thank you!" I got out quickly and heard rice telling him to wait a bit. I pulled my medium sized duffle bag over my shoulder and rolled my carry-on out of the trunk.

I gave rice and exaggerated frown and hugged him tightly. "I don't want to" I mumbled in his chest, dragging out the 'o' in to.

"They've all apologized for their actions and behaviors. I think they'll all treat you like a queen" he said, trying to lighten the mood up a bit. I let out a fake sob and he started laughing. People all around us were giving us the weirdest looks but we frankly couldn't care less.

"I'll miss you so much. Call every 3 hours, just to make sure I'm all fine and dandy and haven't tried anything stupid" I begged sarcastically.

"Come on, you? You'll be fine, honestly, what's the worst that can happen" he pulled away from the hug. "I'll miss you too. But you gotta go now or you'll miss your flight." He nodded towards the airport entrance.

"Alright then" I let go of him and started backing away. "I'll see you later, Ill FaceTime you as soon as I land" I pointed at him strictly. He pulled out his phone and took a quick picture of me frowning at him before I entered the airport.

I was waiting for my plane to start boarding and I went on Instagram, I still use rices accounts, I should probably make my own soon. I saw that he posted the picture on Instagram. It stated getting loads of comments saying 'good luck Alyssa' and 'it's okay, cancer isn't contagious' which made me laugh. Then I saw one comment that caught my eye

I read the comment over and over again. The thought of touring in magcon annoyed me more and more every time I thought about it and my plane to it still hasn't boarded yet.
'@rice: @hunterrowland DUDEEE , fuck off'
I replied and closed my phone. I bet this tour is going to go awfully bad.
