War Part 2

Chapter 19

Percy POV

It has been a week after the 1st battle which surprised me because it gives us time to heal the wounded campers and train more. When I told the news that there was going to be one more battle nobody was excited because it was a battle and they probably wouldn't have time to heal all the wounded campers so we would not have very many not wounded campers. It has been awesome having a week to train the campers more and getting them all healed. All the gods will be helping us in this battle because it was against Gaea and she would probably have a bigger army than Kronos. Zoe and I have been training campers like crazy and you can see the results. When I am not training the campers I am hanging out with Artemis. That is what I am doing right now.

We still have not told anyone except the hunters that we are dating Artemis and I are on the beach. Artemis head is resting on my shoulder and I am leaning my head on her head. We are in a spot on the beach that you can't see use from land or water. Then all the sudden the getting attacked horn went off and Artemis and I ran into were our army was.

Artemis yelled, "FIRE," for the archers and I yelled, "GO." Our army charged at the enemy and I ran straight for Gaea. Gaea laughed when she saw I was going for her but I could see fear in her eyes. I charged I swung Riptide at Gaea and cut a deep gash on her legs. I didn't realize that Artemis was next to me until she started shooting arrows at Gaea and once I saw what she was doing I jumped on the arrows embedded in Gaea and I was up to Gaea's neck when I told Artemis to help the hunters.

I was cutting Gaea all other but one thing I forgot was that she would just heal herself if she was on the ground. So, I focused on all the water near me and put in under Gaea's feet and made the water raise Gaea then when she was a couple feet off the ground I stabbed Gaea in the heart and I took a little free fall but made the water catch me.

I ran into battle with a whirlwind around me. There was still a lot of monsters but you could see the difference in how many monsters there were in the beginning and now. I killed a lot of monsters before they realized that there leader was dead and they started to turn and run. The archers got all the runaway monsters.

There were only one hunter that died and three campers that died. We had all the shrouds burn but one thing that stayed the same was that I felt like I could of saved them. I walked away as the last shroud burned and Artemis followed me and said, "It's not your fault Percy."

I said, "I know but It just feels like it is."

The war was finally over and the gods asked me again if I wanted to become a god but I just wanted to become immortal because if there ever was a war again I wanted to help and not to be restricted.
