Tell me how I'm supposed to work there when every inch of that place is plagued with your memory?
You holding my mat for me as we walked towards the biggest slide in the park.
Me refusing to get on the body-board rider, and you purposefully riding it to the side to get me completely soaked.
Us swimming around the lazy river, begging your sister to invite me over more so that we could spend more time together.
It's my worst nightmare. Because every second that I'm there, is another second that I'm reminded of the way we used to be before everyone and everything got in the way.
Our Summer's were fun
Our feelings were simple
And our hearts were happy.Lucky you, you got out of there before it all happened. You no longer lifeguard, you left before you got the chance to feel this pain.
But I've only just started there.
I'll be selling and making food. And I can already tell that every day, I'll be watching and waiting for your face to pop up in the window and order another chance.
